11/21/19 This sweet guy just joined Helping Paw Rescue today. Meet our Apollo...He is a stunning 2year old German Shepherd who would so love to find his forever home. At 70 lbs he is a big bundle of fluffy love. Apollo is friendly, social, loving and playful. He has been so friendly with everyone and gets along with both male and female dogs. Not sure about kitties yet as he is so new to us. If you might have room in your heart and home for sweet Apollo please go to our website, Helping Paw Rescue, the one based in Roslyn, NY , and submit an adoption application. One of our volunteers will be in touch. Our Shepherds are temperament tested, spay/neutered, microchipped and up to date with all vetting at time of adoption. He will be available in 7-8 weeks. We will post more info as we gather it. Apollo says thanks for checking him out !

Vicky is a beautiful German Shepherd of 12 years old that is hoping that her stay with us won't be a long one. She was given up when her owner lost their home. Vicky has had some heartbreak in her life, as her original owner passed away five years ago. But she was loved very much in both of the homes that she's had, and it shows in her personality. She is extremely sweet, friendly, and bonds with people quickly. Within minutes of knowing us, Vicky was leaning against us, looking for attention and resting her head against us. Aside from some age-related wear and tear on her teeth, eyes, and hips, Vicky is in good health. She still enjoys playing fetch and trotting after a toy, and she's perfectly behaved. She has not had much experience with other pets but seems open to meeting larger, calm dogs that won't cause her any grief. Vicky just wants a comfortable, loving home to spend the rest of her life in and she hopes that you'll give her a chance. File #29185 9/20/19

Well.... It certainly took a village to help 11 years old Scruffy find his forever family. We are eternally grateful to have a team of people with truly golden hearts who worked tirelessly for this senior citizen to give him a chance to age gracefully and happy. Big thank you goes to Cissy Heppel and Lyn Horn who saved him from Memphis Animal Shelter, big thank you to Karen Smith for help with fostering. HUGE thank you to our one and only Barbara Maffett who not found Scruffy forever family but also arranged the private aircraft to bring Scruffy from Memphis to Carlisle Airport PA. Thank you Captain Troy and Captain Elio from Pilots N Paws for flying all the way to Memphis from Cincinnati to pick up Scruffy and bringing him to Carlisle PA. And of course our heartfelt thank you to Scruffy's adopters Alyssa and Dan from York PA for opening your home and your hearts to this sweet senior boy. This is truly amazing teamwork for the love of the beautiful pup.❤️
