🐾 Happy Caturday, Friends! 🐾

September is Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness Month, and today we’re focusing on our beloved senior cats. 💙

As cats age, they’re more at risk for certain illnesses, including lymphoma, the most common type of cancer found in felines. While every cat is different, here are some signs pet parents should watch for:

🔹 Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss
🔹 Lethargy or hiding more than usual
🔹 Vomiting or diarrhea
🔹 Increased thirst or changes in bathroom habits
🔹 Trouble breathing or persistent coughing

Because cats are experts at hiding illness, regular wellness visits and senior bloodwork are the best way to catch changes early. Early intervention allows our team to provide the best possible care and quality of life. 🩺✨

🌟 Wellness Wednesday: Senior Pet Care 🌟

September is Senior Month at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, and our furry friends deserve the best as they enter their golden years. 🐾 Just like us, senior pets need a little extra care to stay comfortable, happy, and healthy.

Here are 4️⃣ ways to support your aging dog or cat ⬇️

1️⃣ Exercise for body & brain – Gentle walks, playtime, and puzzle toys keep muscles strong and minds sharp.
2️⃣ Massages – Not only do they feel amazing, but they also ease stiffness and help with pain control.
3️⃣ Bi-annual exams & annual bloodwork – Catching age-related issues early (like kidney disease, arthritis, or dental problems) makes treatment easier and more effective.
4️⃣ Joint supplements & pain management – Supporting mobility helps pets stay active and improves their quality of life.

Your senior pet has given you years of unconditional love—let’s return the favor by making their golden years shine. ✨

📞 Call us today to schedule your senior’s wellness exam. Preventive care now means more happy, healthy moments together. 💙

🐾 Motivation Monday…from your #1 fan!🐾

Happy Monday! 🐶🐱 This week is going to be purr-fectly amazing. 🐾
Trust yourself like I trust you to fill my food bowl, keep your head up like I do when I’m begging for treats, and keep your heart open—because love (and blessings) are always on the way. 💙

Something miraculous is just around the corner, and it’s got your name on it (I sniffed it out already 😉).

Let’s make it a paw-some week together! ✨

Love,
Your Furry Best Friend 💕

😺 Happy Caturday, friends! 🐾

As cats age, their eyes may start to look cloudy. Sometimes this is just a normal change called lenticular sclerosis—a bluish haze that doesn’t usually affect vision. But cloudy eyes can also mean cataracts or even glaucoma, which can be painful and lead to vision loss if untreated.

🚨 Watch for signs like:
✨ Squinting or excessive tearing
✨ Redness or discharge
✨ Bumping into things or acting disoriented
✨ Pawing at the eyes

If you notice any of these, it’s time for a vet check! Early detection helps protect your kitty’s sight and keep them comfortable. 💙

Give us a call at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic—we’ll help your feline friend keep those beautiful eyes shining bright. 👀🐾

🌿 Happy Wellness Wednesday, Pet Parents! 🌿

As our pets get older, their care needs change—and with the right support, they can continue to thrive in their golden years. Remember, aging is not a disease. With a little extra attention, your senior furry friend can stay happy, comfortable, and healthy. 🐾💙

Here are a few ways to help your pet age gracefully:
1️⃣ Maintain a healthy weight – Extra pounds put unnecessary strain on joints and mobility.
2️⃣ Feed a high-quality senior diet (with grains!) – Balanced nutrition supports energy, digestion, and overall well-being.
3️⃣ Add a veterinary-approved joint supplement – A little extra support can keep those hips and joints moving smoothly.
4️⃣ Don’t forget dental care! Dental disease can impact overall health, so remember to “flip that lip” and keep up with professional cleanings. 🦷
5️⃣ Encourage low-impact exercise – Long walks, swimming, or gentle play keep bodies strong and joints limber.
6️⃣ Prioritize pain management – Comfort is key to quality of life.
7️⃣ Schedule annual exams & baseline bloodwork – Early detection helps us stay ahead of potential health issues.

At Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, we’re here to partner with you every step of the way—because your senior pets deserve to live their best years in comfort and joy. 🐶🐱

💙 Call us today to schedule your senior pet’s wellness visit and let’s keep those tails wagging and purrs going strong!

🐾✨ Motivation Monday from Your Furry Friend ✨🐾

Hi Mom/Dad, it’s me! 🐶🐱 I just wanted to remind you of something important today…

Nothing in your life is late. Nothing is missing. Everything is arriving exactly when it’s supposed to. 💕

Think about me—I don’t worry about when dinner’s coming, when the walk will happen, or if you’ll be home soon. I just trust you. 🐾 The same way I trust you, you can trust the timing of your journey too.

Those delays you’re facing? They’re not setbacks—they’re little pauses of protection and preparation. The universe is making sure everything lines up just right for you. 🌟

So breathe, wag your tail (or smile big!), and know this: when the time is right, everything will flow into your life effortlessly. You’ve got this—and I’ve got you. 🐕🐾🐈

Happy Monday! Let’s make it a week full of love, patience, and trust. 💙

😺 Happy Caturday, CAC friends! 🐾

Did you know that cats are masters at hiding illness? It’s true—our senior feline friends often mask discomfort until health issues are more advanced. That’s why proactive senior care is so important. 💜

At Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, we recommend:
✔️ Bi-annual wellness exams – because things can change quickly as kitties age
✔️ Senior bloodwork & diagnostics – to catch what we can’t see on the outside
✔️ Radiographs – to check for changes in bones, joints, and organs
✔️ Lifestyle adjustments – softer bedding, easy access to food/water, and gentle playtime keep your cat thriving

✨ This month, in honor of Senior Pet Health, we’re offering special discounts on senior diagnostics—giving you peace of mind and your cat kid the best chance at a long, healthy life.

So while your senior kitty may still act like the king or queen of the castle 👑, let’s make sure they’re feeling just as great as they look!

Call us today to schedule your cat’s comprehensive senior check-up—because every purr-filled year is precious. 💕

🌿 Wellness Wednesday, CAC Friends! 🌿

At Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, every day is Senior Month—because our older furry friends deserve a little extra love and care. 🐾

While annual exams are a great start, senior pets benefit most from bi-annual check-ups, senior bloodwork, radiographs, and other diagnostics. Why? Because physical exams can only show us what’s happening on the outside (like changes in skin, eyes, or mobility), but internal diagnostics give us a complete picture of your pet’s overall health—helping us catch potential issues early.

✨ Good news: During Senior Month, we’re offering these important diagnostics at a special discounted rate! It’s the perfect time to ensure your beloved pet enjoys the healthiest and happiest golden years possible. 💕

Call us today to schedule your senior pet’s comprehensive health assessment—let’s work together to make their best years their brightest years! 🐶🐱

Our Story

Chattahoochee Animal Clinic is a small animal practice in Roswell Georgia that excels in client education and advanced veterinary care. Our veterinarians, Dr. Marcus Smith and Dr Dianne Dawkins, look forward to every interaction with pet parents, as an opportunity to educate them in various veterinary care topics. The CAC team's goal is to create the most educated pet parents in the North Fulton area, which will help promote long and cherished relationships with their pet companions. We provide customized preventative care based on your fur kid’s specific needs.

A big part of what we do is community outreach. We pride ourselves in giving back in any way we can. We visit several schools throughout the year to educate children about pet care and veterinary science. Our heart goes out to the less fortunate and we work closely with several rescue organizations, such as Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, showing support for local organizations like Shamrock’n For the Cure, CDA Toy Drive, working with our friends at Lucky’s Burgers and Brews, Downtown Pooch, just to name a few.

We offer a FREE first exam for anyone who would like to experience the CAC difference. So give us a call today! 770.993.6329
