Mya is the Atlanta Humane Society pet this week!

Mya is a 3-year -old shepherd mix who enjoys the best of both worlds—relaxing at home for a peaceful nap and engaging in playful bursts of energy. She’s always eager for a walk in the park, where she can explore, soak in the fresh air, and stretch her legs. Maya is a social butterfly, greeting new people with a happy wag, wiggles, and a friendly approach for pets and affection. Her leash manners are solid, and she remains calm and composed, even when meeting strangers. Mya is also wonderfully well-behaved when left alone, never getting into things she shouldn’t. A true cuddle bug, she adores attention but remains quiet and calm—so much so that she doesn’t even bark! She gently takes treats and loves spending time with her people. Despite all her wonderful qualities, Mya is still waiting for her forever home at Atlanta Humane's Westside's location at 1551 Perry Boulevard.

Mathias is the Atlanta Humane Society pet this week!

Mathias the Chihuahua is a 7-year-old lovable mix of energy and relaxation who enjoys being close to his humans. With other dogs, he’s a work in progress—initially reactive but capable of warming up with patience. He does well with smaller dogs, like corgis, and might adjust to a dog sibling with the right introduction. A true snuggle bug, Mathias loves curling up on the couch or burrowing under blankets. He’s affectionate, gives little kisses, and sleeps peacefully without causing trouble. This cutie looking for a home with someone around often who can maintain his diet and handle potential future medical care, like surgery for bladder stones. He wouldn’t do well being left alone all day but would be a loyal, loving companion to anyone ready for snuggles—and maybe a little jealousy! Nova is the Atlanta Humane Society pet this week!

Nova is a resilient Shepherd mix who has overcome a difficult start in life and is now ready for a loving home. At just 1 year old, this sweet and gentle spayed female has a calm and trusting nature, deeply appreciating the kindness and care she now receives. While she can get a little anxious when left alone, she has learned to manage it with support and a consistent routine. Nova adores cuddling on the couch, curling up in the funniest sleeping positions, and being close to her people. She is great with kids under 10 and has lived with other dogs, though she may need slow introductions.
