When we first got these cats they were itty bitty. They moved across the floor so fast, they were called tarantulas. I just had one of the kittens and Meribeth who ended adopting all 3 both of us referred to them as "tranutulas". Wake up in the middle of the night and see this small black fuzzy thing scurrying towards you. It was quite startling. Now they are lovingly referred to as the tarantula gang.
Before we got them they were living under a porch with mom who was immediately adopted. The good Samaritan who contacted us had prey driven dogs and needed this family rescued.
As you can see they too will have a Happy New Year.

I was checking up on our adopted kitten Evie
formerly Skippy.
Her health was a little shaky.
Here she is today.
I didn't need to ask anymore questions. :-)
How do y'all think she is doing?
I think she will have a Happy New Year!

Dear Supporters,

As the year ends, I reflect on all that we've accomplished together—and all that still lies ahead.

This week, we invested $1,956 to help keep CTFR running, covering critical expenses for surgeries to ensure we could continue making an impact. But we can’t do it alone.

Your past support has been vital in sustaining our work, and I’m incredibly grateful for your generosity. Today, I’m reaching out again to ask for your help. Your gift—no matter the size—will ensure we start 2025 strong, with the resources we need to make a difference.

Together, we’ve achieved so much. Let’s keep building on this momentum. Please consider contributing on or before December 31st to help us reach our year-end goal.

You can donate here: https://givebutter.com/ctfr-critical-needs

Thank you for believing in this mission and being such an essential part of the CTFR community.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Elizabeth Brumbaugh

We are ready for a temperature drop. Today we are in the 70's but in Texas we never know.
These cats have a building to go into but
many times won't go in and won't be caught.
So I gave in and set up 7 bins with insulation and straw. Now they will probably go in the building LOL.

UPDATE to post.
I was having mixed feelings about Gray Goose and usually when I make up my mind it's time. I don't fudge.
We know something is very wrong with GG her WBC is in the 60K and her RBC very very low.
But I just didn't feel right. She had diaherra every day except today she had formed poo.

Plus at the vets office she didn't act like a sick kittty. I think she was trying to tell me something? Did she know??? NAW....

Plan B continue with steroids and antibiotics.

Taking one day at a time.

So sorry about the false alarm.

This is going to be a sad day. But I would rather end the year this way than start the new year with a death.
Gray Goose and her kitten were in a small town Wharton, TX.
I was contacted by the shelter. I was asked to take mom and baby kitten. I replied what if I don't take them? Worker said they are in a dog kennel now we don't take cats. If they get into one of the dog kennels.....
They litterly have no chance.
So I took them and gave them a home. Her daughter Cole died of cancer 2 years ago. They will be joining each other today.
My final gift to Gray Goose. Twelve years is a long time for a momma kitty that had no chance.
She is loved and she knows it.
Rest now Gray Goose.

This is really are core mission. To provide Trap, Neuter, Return and Manage (when necessary). This is one of our stops we have been feeding for at least 8-10 years maybe longer I have lost track. The TNRM is actually the easy part. When we take on friendly cats and kittens is when it gets to be much more time consuming and costly for us. I prefer sticking with just the TNRM but how can we turn our backs on kittens, friendly adults or cats in horrible situations.
We have adjusted our focus this year without really having a true facility to house the cats in transition. We have been getting by because there is a strong will and we all know if there is a "will there is a way". And GOD has always provided for us to continue to fight the good fight.

Thats where y'all come in, giving us practical help with your donations and our precious volunteers who seem to always step up.
Many lives were changed tremendously this year. We just wanted to say THANK YOU!

This will make you smile. This kitten Skippy now Evee came back from the brink. Our volunteer Stacy along with adopter and new Mom Lana fought for this little girl.
She is doing much better and now with her new family beginning to thrive.
Thank you Stacy and Lana. Evee you are one lucky kitty.
That's 2 lives you have used up. First one rescued from Mt Pleasant Animal Shelter by dedicated shelter photographer and volunteer Cheryl. Second fighting and beating eye infection and respiratory issues.

Don't cash in anymore chips ok Evee.

Happy New Year to All.

This is Lily my precious neighbor she is the kitten manager of CTFR.
She is the best kitten watcher ever. She gleefully takes care of them. She is a future rescuer.

We are at Texas Humane Heros with 12 spays and neuters. There is only 1 feral in the bunch the rest are getting real homes. No more kittens for 2025.
This is some of what your donations do for our community cats.
Thank you!

The clock is ticking! Tomlinson's Pound 4 Pound Food Drive is in its final days, and we need your help to reach our goal before the deadline on December 24th. This is the most important food drive of the year for Central Texas Feline Rescue (CTFR), and every donation helps us provide premium nutrition for the cats in our care.

When you donate a bag of food, Tomlinson's Feed will double it—pound for pound. Your contribution goes twice as far to help the feral cats we feed in our community colonies, the cats in our shelter, and the kittens waiting for their forever homes.

Here’s how you can help:

When: Now through December 24th
Where: Donate in-store at any Tomlinson's location or online at Tomlinsons.com

How: Tell the cashier to select Central Texas Feline Rescue or choose us from the online dropdown menu

This is the main food drive we rely on for the entire year, and we can’t do it without you. Every donation ensures that the cats we care for don’t go hungry—especially the feral cats in the communities we serve, who depend on us for their survival.

Let’s make this holiday season one to remember by ensuring every cat in our care is well-fed and cared for.

Donate today to make a difference!

Thank you for your compassion and generosity,
The Central Texas Feline Rescue Team

This gang was rescued from Weberville AKA coyote country on Tuesday. All 4 seem tame except for Kramer. He will need work.
They were slated to move to our Manor location to live out their lives in safety. A comfortable safe place but not home. We are working with them. They are very pretty cats. Elaine (calico) is soft as silk. All have pretty faces.
CTFR would love to get them real homes.
Stay tuned.

Dear Supporters,

The holiday season is well underway, and while we’ve made some progress in the Tomlinson’s Pound 4 Pound Pet Food Drive, we’re falling behind and need your help to reach our goal.

This is our biggest food drive of the year, and the cats at Central Texas Feline Rescue (CTFR)—both at the shelter and in the feral colonies we serve—are depending on us to provide the food they need to thrive. Every donation you make helps feed these cats for an entire year, and Tomlinson’s will match your donation pound for pound. That means your gift will have DOUBLE the impact!

We care for hundreds of cats, including:

Shelter cats waiting to find their forever homes.
Feral cats in managed colonies across Central Texas who rely on us for their daily meals.
Cats in need of rescue who require additional care and support.
Without your help, we may not have enough food to meet their needs.

How You Can Help Right Now

When: Now through Dec 24th
Where: Donate at tomlinsons.com or at any Tomlinson’s Feed location.
How: Tell the cashier to select Central Texas Feline Rescue when you donate in-store, or choose us from the dropdown menu when donating online.
We’re counting on YOU to help us make a difference. Every bag donated not only feeds a hungry cat but also gives us the resources to focus on other critical needs, like medical care and rescue missions.

Together, let’s make sure no cat goes hungry this holiday season. Donate today and help us get back on track to hit our goal!

Thank you for being a vital part of this community—your kindness and generosity mean everything to us and the cats we serve.

Holiday Tail of Hope

This holiday season, we’re reflecting on the miracles that happen when compassion meets determination. One such miracle unfolded recently in Georgetown, Texas, when two abandoned orange bonded cats were rescued from heartbreaking conditions.
It all began when Central Texas Feline Rescue (CTFR) received a call from a woman in Virginia (1,500 miles away) who had become aware of two cats that had lost their home due to a drug related tragedy (CBS Austin news) and were in desperate need of help. CTFR quickly responded and headed to the scene. After speaking with neighbors, they located the first cat - weak but trusting and willingly went into the carrier. The second cat, however, remained elusive. Despite searching the area extensively, CTFR couldn’t find him. Hours later, they returned to continue the search determined to reunite the sibling pair. Finally, the cat was found lying on a cardboard box amidst moldy clothes and trash.
In a heartwarming tale of resilience and second chances, two formerly homeless cats, now named Sox and Scrapper, have found their forever home.
Once injured and alone, the pair has blossomed under the care of their new fur parent. "To be loved is to be changed, and they are changing me, and I love it!" the grateful owner shared.
Scrapper, with scars to prove his tough exterior, earned his name by being a true fighter. "Scrapper earned his name by all his battle scars. Sox needed a protector and he was it. Together they survived living on the street and losing the only home they knew," the owner explained.
This inspiring story highlights the power of compassion and the transformative impact of a loving home. Central Texas Feline Rescue works tirelessly to provide a lifeline for countless animals. This holiday season, consider donating; every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of animals in need. Thank you for being part of this miracle. 🎄✨
