The Power of Reward History:

Potty on command is one of the BEST gifts you can create for yourself as a dog owner. It starts with shaping & rewarding at the youngest of ages and involves a treat for EVERY potty — for life. Yes!!!! I said for life!

Journey has experienced a decade of treats for potty 99% of the time. So when that 1% situation occurs…and there’s no treat, he makes it happen because of the history of the reward.

Good potty, J-Dawg! 🐾

In a windstorm, thunderstorm or ice storm, potty on cue rocks!

When that avocado seed rolled off the counter, I was on that thing like a BUG TO A LIGHT!!!!! And in a split second, mom yelled “drop it”…I’ve trained for a decade for this very moment. DROPPED IT…and scored on close to two dozen treats. JACKPOT —> got the WHOLE bag! Signed, Best Boy Journey 🐾

OMG! So, you guys have to see this! So this little terrier-mix girl acts 💯 percent frozen when her harness comes out — when her mom and dad are around. But when they’re gone, check this out! Real live — and totally shocking — footage that she’s totally into it and not a victim! 🤣

Her sweet brother is there for moral support (and treats for nothing)!

Teaching a “load up” command (on to any object/surface) will be win for you and your dog for a lifetime. And will ensure an A+ at the Vet’s office!

Start early...on any and all surfaces.
1. On to a rock
2. On to a platform
3. In to the back of your SUV
4. On to the scale at the vet
5. Any surface is a great surface (even if it is a bit wobbly)

Watch those growth plates for younger dogs (who have not yet reached sexual maturity) before allowing any jumping from high surfaces or repetitive low surfaces! 🐾
