ICYMI: As reported by , it’s looking like Chomps isn’t going to be a tripod but will likely be a stumpy peg leg boy instead 🙀! Chomps’ ear, tail stump, and missing toed paw have healed beautifully. All that’s left is his little stump leg, which is healing beyond our wildest dreams. He’ll be missing his paw but already puts weight on the stump and is using it to bap bap his siblings constantly. We can’t wait for the stump reveal in a couple weeks once he’s healed enough to be bandage-free. Great job, buddy!

These three hooligans are chugging right along. Pingu + Pongo made themselves right at home. Chomps is desperate to make friends with his thick as thieves siblings but is often odd kitten out. Hopefully he’ll be welcomed back into the group soon 🤞.

As a last hurrah of 2024, Welcome Pongo and Pingu, Chomps’ siblings! These two have been with another foster and she graciously let me take over their care so Chomps has an appropriate playmate to Chomp. As soon as their stool is back to 100%, this little family will be reunited. If you’re interested in one or both of these epic floofs to join your family in 3-3 weeks, get in line now. These two won’t last long! Welcome, babies!

Meet Lefty aka Mini Chomps! When he showed up on an urgent plea yesterday, I knew he was my type. Thankfully, I found another foster to take the big girls, so that I could focus all my attention on this poor buddy. Chomps was found in an excavator with severe injuries. His front left leg is degloved and will need amputation once he’s big enough. His tail was completely amputated, so we’re waiting to see if he has continence. He also has a degloved left hind toe and the pinna of his right ear is mangled. His two siblings were also found but unharmed. He’s on all of the meds to keep his pain and infection at bay, but he’s got a long road of recovery ahead. Let’s hope this tiny tiger overcomes his injuries and gets to live a happy, healthy, amputee life!

Say hello to Saskatchewan and Seboyeta! These gals came to in rough shape, but have rallied thanks to multiple fosters. Due to holiday travel, they needed a new foster. I was hoping someone else would step up for some “easy/normal” kittens, but no one did. So I gave myself a little treat and took these gals. Sebbie (micro void) is a super confident purr machine. Saskie (mouse face) is more hesitant and shy. We can’t wait to see these gals’ personalities blossom. If you’re interested in bringing home some New Year kittens, reach out!

The difference a week makes! 🙀

Almost 4 month old Bug came to me just to foster-sit while her foster is out of town. She came into the shelter about a month ago and immediately crashed. The tech and vet were able to bring her back, but she’s had an uphill battle ever since. I’m hesitant to say she’s on the perfect path, but she has definitely made huge strides in just the week she’s been at Chez KK. While she should be about 4lbs, Bug is just hitting almost 1.5lbs. She’s gained almost 100g in the week we’ve had her, and her anemia seems to be improving too. While she still has the snottiest, leaky-faucet kitten nose, she’s otherwise perking up. We’re not sure if her parasites and flea anemia are what made her so small or if she’s facing additional congenital issues. Once she’s a bit more stable and has put on some weight, we’ll do more diagnostics as needed thanks to . For now, let’s just revel in the strength of this teeny, sassy calico!

Welcome Little Bo Peep to @criticalkittencarefund and Chez KK! CKCF was contacted by a vet as she and her brother were brought into their clinic. Unfortunately their feral mama moved their siblings but left them. LBP’s brother unfortunately passed soon after arriving at the clinic, but LBP was a fighter! A vet tech cared for her until I could pick her up. I knew about her slight URI, but she also has some crusty, suspicious hairloss 😬. She’ll be getting a ringworm PCR @firehouseanimal Leander next week, but we’re treating her as if she has the pesky fungus anyhow- better safe than sorry! Although she’s a mini gal for 5 weeks old, I’m hopeful she’ll grow well and be ready for a forever home in the beginning of July. Welcome to the crew, tiny one!
