Laurel Ridge summer camps 2024 wrapped up last Friday with our busiest week to date! New skills were learned, friends were made, and of course, fun was had by all. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of our new friends in regular lessons, call today to get on the schedule before fall books fill up!
Just a few of our favorite shots from week 2 of summer camp at Laurel Ridge! A full roster of tiny tots and a large group of older kids spent a week with us learning the ins and outs of basic horsemanship and had a blast doing so. We can’t wait to see what week 3 brings!
Here are just a few highlights from an action packed week for LRS! Between a full first week of summer camp and a weekend NTASHA tournament (thanks to Mill-Again Stables for hosting ☺️), we’ve been a busy bunch. PS-swipe to see what happens when campers run out of horses to bathe (Sorry Mister!)
Team Laurel Ridge closed out the first half our show season with the TASHA Spring Classic Horse Show. The temperatures may have been high, but it did little to dampen the fun we had! Two more first time academy riders experienced the joy of showing a Saddlebred, another new-to-LRS performance team hit the ring and had a blast, and the rest of the crew turned in excellent rides in with the brightest of smiles.
Thank you to TASHA for putting on another well-organized horse show, and thank you to the LRS families and friends who supported the riders this weekend. A special thanks to Rebecca Barr for keeping us organized, to Uriel for keeping the horses turned out to perfection, and to Jordan Kelly for holding down the fort in Rowlett. What a whirlwind of a weekend for team Laurel Ridge at the Big D Charity Horse Show! Of the fourteen teams that were put in the ring, eleven were either experiencing their first or second horse show ever, their first show under the Laurel Ridge banner, or their second time out of the academy division. Speak No Evil even got to meet his human brother for the first time; leadline 2028, here they come 😎
Perhaps our favorite first timer this weekend was Jordan Kelly, who dove right in and made all the difference in an action packed weekend. Special thanks as well to Uriel, who kept all the horses immaculate for the show ring. We couldn’t be more proud of our clients and the amazing team that we get to work with every day. Let the Spring TASHA countdown begin!
The Laurel Ridge crew is home from a fun-filled weekend at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show! From the leadline division to the open five-gaited stake, our horses and riders turned in wonderful performances. We can’t wait to get back to work and get ready for the challenge of the Big D Charity Horse Show in a few short weeks. Ever wish you could walk through the doors of your school and see horses waiting in the parking lot? Some special kiddos from Liberty Grove Elementary don’t have to wish, they got to see it first hand! Ms. Hannah made a stop for career day and got to share all about life as a horse trainer while Charlotte and Dolly got to say hello to some very excited students. We love interacting with our community ❤️
A little wind chill is no match for a dedicated group of Laurel Ridge ladies determined to make the most of their clinic experience! Thank you to Shenanigan Stables for hosting the clinic, and very special thank you to Tommy Benton for your time and words of wisdom. We can’t wait to build on what we’ve learned this weekend and put on a horse show at LASHA 🤩
