On Wednesday night, some of our staff made it out to a dinner at Season's 52 sponsored by Zoetis! We got to learn about resistant heartworm strains, and which preventative options are best. We had a wonderful dinner, and learned so much. We can't wait to share it with all of you!

Yesterday Karissah and Dr. Rue got the pleasure of seeing Lucy the red foot tortoise. She came in for her annual exam but since she had been acting strange the previous week, we did some x-rays and found she has eggs! Those 6 round objects are her eggs. We get to recheck her again in a few weeks to see her progress. How cool!!

We want to take this time to congratulate Dr. Dugal on his retirement!! 🥳🎉 Dr. Dugal's last full time day at Community Animal Hospital will be on December 20th, 2024. Don't be so sad because, Dr. Dugal will be here occasionally after that as a relief veterinarian, possibly 1-2 days a week. We just can't get rid of him. 😉 His wife Tammy, and him are a package deal and we want to give a huge thank you to her as well for everything she has done for the clinic, staff, and community throughout the years! ❤💙
Dr. Dugal first started his journey as a veterinarian in 1981. Since he was a little boy he had always dreamed of being a vet because he enjoys taking care of animals and likes making them feel better. In 1989, Dr. Dugal opened Community Animal Hospital and has continued to serve the pets in our community ever since. Dr. Dugal enjoys seeing cats and dogs the most but occasionally will see other pets.🐶😺 His favorite cases are anything that is challenging as he always likes to be on his toes! The staff wants to give our biggest thanks to Dr. Dugal, as he is always willing to teach us new things, and always giving us a laugh. Once he is retired you may see him traveling, or riding on his motorcycle! 🏍️ He also loves to eat at Flannigan's so you may also catch him there.
We are inviting all of you to share some of your favorite stories or photos with Dr. Dugal throughout the years. Please post them below.
On the days Dr. Dugal is not here, Dr. Rue does work full time and we are also looking for 1-2 more full time veterinarians so we can continue to care for you and your pets.

❗ URGENT PSA to all of our clients ❗
Tomorrow, 12/3/24, there may be road closures/significant traffic delays as there will be a memorial service for the 3 PBSO deputies who were killed last month in a deadly crash. Please see the attached link from WPTV for alternate routes. The delays are expected to last from 8am-12pm. We send our prayers and all of our love to the families/friends of the fallen officers.
