Hello. Please be aware of our new prescription policy. Country Veterinary Clinic is no longer accepting faxed or online prescription requests and is no longer phoning prescriptions into pharmacies.
As a small business we are dedicated to providing wellness exams and medical treatment for your pets in a timely manner. As you may know from your own personal experience, calling into a pharmacy typically results in a significant hold time prior to speaking with the pharmacist or pharmacy technician. Confirming the appropriate medication, dose, and duration of treatment for each pet prescription from an online pharmacy is also very time consuming for our staff as frequent corrections are required. Without these corrections, your pet is at risk for harmful side effects. Utilizing the staff to handle these prescription requests, takes valuable time away from seeing your pets.
These issues have led us to the decision to no longer handle faxed or online prescription requests and to no longer phone prescriptions into pharmacies. Clients can still use the pharmacy of their choice by requesting a written prescription from the veterinarian. Clients can then contact the pharmacy directly. This will require a bit more forethought when there are no refills on a current prescription or when initiating a new prescription. Country Veterinary Clinic DOES work directly with two online pharmacies as other options for filling prescriptions. Options include (Chewy.com) or (My Vet Store) which can be found on our page or on our website.
We have made this decision with the best interest of your pets in mind. Please be kind to our staff when they decline a faxed prescription or a request to phone in a prescription to a pharmacy.
