Below is a video of Dr. Kline removing bot fly larva from the side of a patients face. Bot flies are most common and active in the summer months when they reproduce and lay eggs that penetrate a hosts body through the skin or face. Pets usually present with swelling under the skin, and a small "wound".

What you see circled here is microfilaria, which are basically baby heart worms. Yesterday a tech found this in a patients blood using a microscope.
