With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of retired K9 Bravo, a beloved member of our police family. Bravo served our community with unmatched dedication and loyalty, protecting and serving in countless ways throughout his career. Bravo received numerous awards for his bravery in serving our community. He was an amazing partner to not only Sgt. Sorteberg, but the entire APD family.

In retirement, he enjoyed a well-deserved life of love, care, and treats. Bravo left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Bravo’s legacy reminds us of the bond and partnership between officers and their K9 partners—a bond built on trust, courage, and devotion.

Rest easy, Bravo. Thank you for your service.

Code Blue K9 was privileged to partner with Oz Lifting Products today, thanks to the generosity of owners Steve and Jane Napieralski, who donated $12,000.00 to acquire a specially imported Police K9. Code Blue K9 will oversee the training of the K9 team. This partnership exemplifies outstanding community support. Congratulations to Chief Conrad Rosendahl and the New Hampton Police Department on being the first recipients of Steve and Jane's generosity.

Code Blue K9 is pleased to announce exceptional K-9 work. The Tama Police K-9 unit was dispatched to track a suspect from a stolen vehicle. Toledo Police located a male matching the description who had fled the vehicle on foot in the 1100 block of Oswego Street. He was detained at 22:50. The K-9 tracked the suspect to the officers and the suspect, confirming he had fled the stolen vehicle. The suspect provided a false name and was detained at the Tama County jail, and identified as a 17-year-old juvenile male.
Charges pending.

Code Blue K9 celebrates another outstanding achievement. Deputy Jensen and K9 Koa played a crucial role in a traffic stop in Otter Tail County, during their 6th shift and 9th deployment after graduating from Code Blue K9s Patrol/ Narcotics class. K9 Koa was deployed to search the exterior of the vehicle. K9 Koa alerted and gave a final indication near the trunk of the vehicle. 3 pounds of m**hamphetamine was found in the trunk. This accomplishment marks a notable beginning for Deputy Jensen and K9 Koa!
