We're a little behind on giving thanks, but we don't want folks to think we've forgotten them, so hold on tight for the last month's worth of much needed recognition -

We'd like to make sure to express immense gratitude to the Woodmen of the World Camp 574 in Lewisburg for their recent donation to the Humane Society as well as Champion for their donation of food, which means we won't have to purchase dry food for our animals for quite a long time!

We'd like to thank our volunteers for helping us transport and unload, the schoolchildren from Olmstead who came and volunteered their morning to help and learn about what we do, to Southern Paws Animal Rescue for transporting some of our kitties for their spay/neuter appointments. Thanks to our board director, Julie Martin who has put in countless unpaid hours to come help with anything at a moment's notice - whether that be the role of spokesperson, cheerleader, or pooper scooper. She does whatever is necessary to make things happen. Thanks to Rita Rowland who dedicates many hours every week to our shy kitties giving them the one-on-one time they need to get properly socialized and ready for their furever homes. Thanks to David Wilkins who is a treasure to us and helps with handy man work and will do anything we ask. To Dave for checking out our van and helping us secure a cost efficient new battery so we can get it up and working again. To the vets in the area who help care for our animals and make sure we have the tools and knowledge to keep them happy and healthy. To Friends of Butler County Animals who have been helping us with cost-efficient Spay/Neuter services and got our own beloved Ms Roxie 'fixed' this morning while taking into account her trauma and anxiety and made it the best experience we could have asked for.

To everyone who came out for our 5k, to the Logan County Chamber of Commerce for our successful ribbon cutting ceremony and to everyone who came out and got a pet microchipped! I'm sure we're missing some folks, so sorry if that's you. I'm sure I'll remember the second after I hit the publish button and feel like a dunce. But also thanks to all of you for keeping us in your thoughts and minds. We try very hard every day to make a difference. Many times we get bogged down with all of the animals we can't yet help, but the sweet faces we see every day let us know that we're doing the best we can with what we've got and that's what we can do for now. Your continued support will help us expand and make even more of a difference!

With all the love from bottom of our toe beans, thank you. ❤️

This story was share with us and we wanted to share it with you. So many people think of shelter dogs as “damaged goods” when in fact there are millions of dogs sitting in shelters that just need a chance. Clifford, a shelter dog from Fort Campbell, has literally become a life-changer for 7-year-old girl Paislee who has Cerebral Palsy and a rare chromosome disorder.
Please take a moment to read this story and to share it far and wide.
This is a little girl from a young military family who needs help raising funds to get Clifford trained as a service dog to help Paislee walk and keep her safe. If this story moves you we hope you’ll donate to Clifford’s training. As we well know, every single dollar makes a difference.
Remember, shelter animals aren’t “broken” - they’ve just had some bad luck and need someone to give them a chance. Please help us share this story, and give Clifford - and Paislee - a chance.

A Fort Campbell family is raising funds to provide their daughter, Paislee, with a specially trained service dog that will help her manage multiple medical conditions, including cerebral palsy and a rare chromosome abnormality.

Find an animal, but all the shelters and vet clinics are closed? Come down to 1970 Lewisburg Rd and use our new microchip reader station - night or day, rain or shine. Located right on our porch.

It's not as fancy as the big municipal stations, and everything was donated by low-income folks (so please don't steal it. Srsly).

All of the instructions are available above the box. We're hoping to help keep Logan County Animals in their loving furever homes!

What an AMAZING AWESOME FANTASTIC DAY!!!
Our first annual “Somewhere Over the Rainbow St. Patrick’s Day 5K Dun Run/Walk” was a tremendous success!
We had an amazing turnout with over 50 folks running and walking, families, friends, strollers kiddos… it was a true community event!
Everyone was so excited to be there, even though the weather was not as ideal as we’d hoped and we appreciate every one of you for coming out to support the cats and dogs of Logan today!
MASSIVE THANKS to:
- John Crider (Pizza MD / The Shack) for sponsoring the snacks and drinks
- Caldwell House for the use of their parking lot
- Katherine McCumber for designing the beautiful t-shirts
- Gerald’s Printing for getting our shirts printed so perfectly and so quickly
- Russellville Police Department for keeping our participants safe
- DJ Catt Daddy for bringing the amazing music and festive atmosphere on a dreary day
- The Flying Pig and their entire crew for letting us fill their entire their upstairs with balloons, store our balloon arch and for helping us set up today - we couldn’t have done it without you all!
- Printers Plus for printing our posters on such beautiful paper
- our amazing staff, board members and volunteers
- everyone who came out to run / walk/ meander the course today!
You all made this happen and I can’t thank you all enough - what a way to start off our fundraising year!
