I’m considering taking a plunge and expanding what we offer at Happy Hounds! But first I would love to get some feedback from the community on what would be the best direction! Would there be any interest in a mobile service? We would have a set up that could come to your home and groom your pet the same as done in a salon! I’ve ran a mobile before and the pros to this is an environment that better fits pets with anxiety, there’s less exposure to airborne illness or parasites, and of course the convenience! The cons would be that until I find someone to run it, I would have to do it on days off or weekends and it may take longer than normal to get an appointment. And the cost would be much more than in salon. Or would anyone be interested in a self service station that would be open during the same operating hours as the salon? This would be for baths and blow outs only. Not sure on the cost of this option yet! Please let us know your thoughts!!

Sorry, sappy post but a very real one! This week was hard!! Probably one of the hardest I’ve had in awhile. I laid down last night feeling like a complete failure. Feeling like I had let my clients down, my employees, and my family as well as theirs. Owning a business is hard. And sometimes you just can’t help but wonder if it’s worth it. All my employees are either new or have been put in new positions that they aren’t used to and it proved to be a little much on all of us. Although they all made the best of it and worked so hard all week trying to get things down! I got up this morning still pretty heavy hearted and exhausted. I went and done kennels because I knew how equally exhausted my crew was and wanted to let them enjoy some time off. I arrived and met a super sweet lady with an even sweeter baby named Nugget! I let out our first boarders, Coco and Blue, who have been coming to me for years now and they were so excited to see me! I was greeted with kisses from everyone and honestly it mended my heart and reminded me exactly why I love doing what I do. But I want to apologize to everyone that came to us this week because the wait times, for the most part, were ridiculous and inexcusable. And there is no one to blame but myself. I hope you all can give me the chance to make it right and prove that this crew I have is capable of doing great things! I’m so proud of these ladies and so thankful to have them as a part of my team. As soon as we work out a few kinks I know things will be so much better! And I’m so excited for the future. And for the clients that patiently waited and showed so much compassion to me and my employees, you’ll never know how much I appreciate it and how grateful I am. I don’t blame anyone for being upset. I completely expected it honestly but the love that was shown to us during such a hard time was absolutely amazing and I can’t thank you all enough!

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

We appreciate you choosing Happy Hounds for all your pet needs!

We have a surcharge added to all card transactions. The amount depends on cost of service. This helps us offset the additional fees for being able to take card payments. We try to keep our prices as low as possible, so therefore the additional card fees take up a large portion of our profits. We do accept cash or check if you would like to avoid those fees.

We are now enforcing a new policy for no call - no shows and/or late cancellations. To avoid a fee on the next service, please follow the 24 hour cancellation policy. If you fail to call us and cancel your appointment, 50% of the cost of service will be added to your next bill. If you no call - no show on us more than twice, we will require a non-refundable deposit when you book your next service.

Instead of doing a price increase for all clients, we have decided to do our pricing based on each individual pet. Prices do vary based on coats, condition, temperament, how many staff members and anything else that affects the length of service.
