Rise and shine, the sun's up at the kennel, and we're rocking a winter wonderland! The first round of let-outs is done, and the pups are now fueling up for the day enjoying their breakfast. After a short rest, let's see who's a fan of the snow and who's hitting the snooze button.

FRIDAY WEATHER UPDATE:

As of right now we will be open on Friday and Saturday as usual with the exception of transports. There will be no transports Friday or Saturday.

If you have pets in our care during this time, do not worry. We will have staff on-site throughout the storm. However, we will be limited so please be extra patient if picking up or dropping off on those days if able to travel.

We hope everyone and every furbaby stays safe and warm over the next week.

We will provide an update if there's any change to this. Thanks!

It's almost time for FIREWORKS! 😱😫

Time to secure your outdoor pets and prepare your indoor pets!

🐾 If they stay outside, make sure they have updated IDs tags and your fences and gates are secure (or just bring them in).

🐾 Prepare a special place for indoor pets like a quiet bathroom, closet, or laundry room and keep a light on if possible.

🐾 Turn on some music or white noise on the Alexa to help damper the fireworks.

🐾 If on medication to help cope, make sure you have enough and administer BEFORE the fireworks start.

🐾 Be considerate of the animals AND the veterans around you. Fireworks are not loved by all.

🐾 Be safe.

Big changes coming in 2025 for PawLife and we wanted to take a moment to give you a heads up.

This is a very difficult time for many small businesses, especially in this industry. The rising costs of products, shipping, labor, services, etc, has made it extremely challenging to stay in operation.

Our core values include transparency and candor and that is part of what makes PawLife so special. So we are coming to you today to uphold these values and share where we are at during this challenging time.

While we have an amazing customer base and continue to grow every month, our expenses are increasing at a faster rate. Every aspect of doing business has increased across the board, especially the cost of labor. We spend a great deal of time screening, hiring, and training the perfect staff. We do our best to attract and retain the best in this industry and pay well above minimum wage. However, it is a very delicate balance between labor costs and pricing our services affordably. Labor costs have skyrocketed and our prices have not.

We have tried different strategies throughout this year but none have provided the financial relief we need for PawLife to be able to support itself and us. We have exhausted all options to continue to run as we currently are. We are still just as committed to providing amazing pet care and support to our community as we were on day 1.

So in an attempt to keep our prices down as much as possible and keep our doors open, Jason has accepted a position outside of PawLife. Even though he will no longer be in the day-to-day operations here, he will always be a big part of us and will pop in often. There's no way he can stay away from these babies that mean so much to him or the customers who made him feel like part of their family.

Everything else will be business as usual and we will review pricing and services in the first quarter of 2025. We will promptly notify if there will be any pricing updates but as of right now there are no changes.

Sadly, this will be Jason's last week with us at his current capacity. But no worries, Colleen isn't going anywhere and neither is PawLife. We just have some growing pains to navigate through and figure out.

Let me make it clear....PawLife isn't going anywhere, only Jason is. We are still open for business as usual and still have BIG dreams for us and our community.

Thank you for your patience and understanding with this decision, it has been an incredibly difficult one to make.

PawLife Christmas party '24 is a wrap!

We have an amazingly small but mighty team with giant hearts. It's nice when we get a chance to all be together at the same time, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. We painted portraits of some of our favorite dogs. ❤️

PS- we missed Misty tonight, and Bailee came straight from Roxy practice(I promised I'd add that explanation in).

Happy Thanksgiving!

We wanted to take a minute to express how thankful we are for our amazing customers, our animal-loving community, our loving staff, and of course all the animals that we get to care for.

We fully understand the difficulty of having to leave your pets in the care of someone else. We are honored you have chosen us and are dedicated to providing the absolute best care we can possibly provide. Thank you for your business, believing in us, and allowing us to be a part of your furbabies lives.

Thank you to the community that is trying so hard to learn, educate others, and do better. At a time when it seems like unplanned litters, unwanted strays, and abandoned and abused animals is neverending, we see people step up to be a voice for the voiceless, foster, and adopt. Thank you.

Thank you to our loving staff that makes this all possible. This can be a difficult industry to stick around in, yet at the same time the most rewarding and fulfilling. It takes a special person to care for and love someone else's pets as much as their own. Our daycare babies often grow up with us and with each other and form such sweet bonds. The majority of our boarders are regulars and we see them several times a year. They remember us and we remember them. We love them when we have them, worry about them when we don't see them, and mourn them when it's their time to go. It can be especially difficult for the team when rehabbing and caring for fosters that we get attached to knowing we have to say goodbye and send them off on the next leg of their journey. But they show up everyday ready to do it all over again. Our staff makes a difference in the lives of the animals in our care every single day. Thank you Jenna, Misty, Haley, Bethany, Acie, and Bailee for everything you do. Thank you to Haley Bass for all your insight and friendship over the years and thank you to all past employees that made a difference but had to move on.

Thank you everyone, we love you, you are what makes PawLife so special. ❤️
