❄️ Winter Tips for Keeping Your Pup Safe in the Cold! ❄️
Cold weather affects every dog differently, so it’s important to know your pup’s limits! Here’s how to keep your furry friend safe and comfortable this winter:
🐾 Pay Attention to Their Body Language
Some dogs love playing in the snow, while others shiver by the door, waiting to come inside. Watch for cues and limit their outdoor time based on their comfort level.
🐾 Coat Type Matters
Double-coated breeds like Labs, German Shepherds, Huskies, and Golden Retrievers typically tolerate the cold better—some feel comfortable even in the high teens! However, shorter-coated breeds may start feeling uncomfortable around 28-32°F.
🐾 General Time Guidelines
28-32°F and above: 15 minutes or less for short-haired breeds.
0°F and below: Most dogs should only stay outside for about 5 minutes at a time.
🐾 Protect Their Paws

🐾 Joey's Training Update! 🐾
Say hello to Joey, our superstar chocolate lab! This week, Joey has been working hard on off-leash obedience, e-collar conditioning, and proofing his on-leash behaviors. He’s making some serious progress! 💪🐶
One of the highlights? Joey’s loose-leash walking skills. Increasing speed adds a new level of difficulty, but Joey stays right by my side, totally engaged and in position. He even chose to do a focused heel all on his own! 🙌
His focus and connection have been phenomenal, and he’s come so far since starting. Keep it up, Joey—proud doesn’t even begin to cover it! 🖤

🐾 Boyd's Progress Update! 🐾
We’re excited to share some awesome progress with Boyd the Chihuahua as he gears up for his upcoming boarding stay! 👑 This little guy has been working hard over the last few weeks and is making great strides.
Boyd started with some big challenges—being very territorial over his family and quick to bite if given the chance. To set him up for success, Amanda had his family step out of sight during a recent session. With careful handling (using two slip leads for safety), Boyd stayed calm and stable during leashing and unleashing—and even accepted pets for the first time! 🖤🧡
We couldn’t be prouder of Boyd’s progress so far, and we’re excited to keep working with him. Way to go, little dude! 💪🐶

Maverick is the only dog wearing an e-collar, and he is practicing neutrality nearby chickens, with the utilization of negative reinforcement. He had an individual session earlier prioritizing e-collar conditioning, clicker charging & heeling practice💪
Margo is being reinforced with food rewards for disengaging from me and the other dogs’ sessions. This is sooo hard for her! Subtle in the video, but scattered food away from us is assisting her in remaining focused elsewhere ☀️
& finally, Anubis is working on his down/stays with lots of distractions! He loves to wrestle with Maverick, so this is challenging for him as well💯
