Today, Tyson was evaluated at Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, demonstrating exceptional calmness and obedience, including proficient walking and sitting on command. Incentivized by treats, likely due to his current underweight condition, Tyson showcased gentle giant characteristics. However, he exhibited a clear aversion to cats. His previous owners reported excellent behavior around children. Tyson's inherent sweetness shines through, making him a charming companion. Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. He's adoption information is found at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
A dedicated volunteer created a video of Marley yesterday, showcasing his charming personality as he awaits his forever home. Marley is a 3-year-old, neutered, and microchipped 'weenie' mix, weighing 19 pounds. He thrives on companionship, adores belly rubs LOVES car rides, and is enthusiastic about playing with tennis balls. However, due to potential past trauma or lack of handling, Marley exhibits resistance to being picked up. We aim to condition him to accept gentle handling through positive reinforcement. We seek a compassionate owner willing to work with Marley to overcome this sensitivity. Sometimes we just have no patience with people, but most of the people we deal with are decent human beings, and we just keep on going, in spite of the mean ones. This cat is Hoolahoop, or at least that is the name he was given when he was adopted many years ago, according to the microchip inserted in him. He was registered with his adopter, but when we called to find out if they knew he was missing (he was found in the Rustburg area), our Animal Control Officer was told "We got rid of him a year after we adopted him, and we live in Florida." And just like that, Hoolahoop was dismissed. The thing is, someone has dearly loved him over the past eight years, but without an updated registration, we can't contact his current person, so he waits and waits at the shelter. The good news is that on November 15, he can go back to his shelter of origin, who always take back the pets adopted from them if they end up at our shelter. But we hate that in the meantime, he is in a steel cage when he wants to be in someone's arms. He is a huggy-type of cat, wrapping his front legs around your neck as if he has never seen a human so awesome as you in his whole life! His big eyes pull you in, and he can see deep into your soul. Maybe this is your missing boy? Maybe you need him to be yours on November 15? Let us know! The shelter number is 434.821.4416.
Martha and Birdie having fun in the playyard today. Martha doesn't have a shy bone in her body and Birdie (tricolor) was the girl who wouldn't leave her kennel for the first few days but look at her now! For more information on them, please visit friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
Hey there, it's Annie! My pals at Friends of Campbell County Animal Control told me I needed to get cat-tested - no worries, I'm a total feline fanatic! Yesterday's test went purr-fectly, but apparently, they need better footage - maybe I was too chill? I mean, zero aggressive vibes here! I was cool as a cucumber, and I think I even won over Samantha, the shelter cat superstar who's also looking for a forever home - thanks for the test assist, Samantha! Friends of Campbell County Animal Control Annie is available for adoption at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. She is about a year old. She is a retriever/poodle mix. She was recently spayed.
Check out Lenny in the playyard today. He's quite the lovebug.

Marley, a 3-year-old, 19-pound neutered Dachshund mix, benefited from neutering and microchipping services at our clinic. Notably, Marley indicates discomfort with being lifted. In contrast, he performs well in office environments and enjoys car rides, loves playing ball, actively seeking interaction. Our objective is to enhance Marley's comfort with handling through targeted training and positive reinforcement. Prospective adopters able to offer patient training are welcome to submit an application online at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org
