McCluney Farm welcomed our third litter of ABCA border collies on July 18 by ScottyxMac. They are nearly three weeks old now. All eyes open and on the move. Please help me welcome, the I Love Lucy crew! Lucy, Ricky(Chaser), Ethel, and Fred will be ready for their new homes mid September. Lucy and Ethel are still available for adoption. Ricky (now Chaser) will be heading to Pennsylvania to be with his three year old sister, Spring. Fred will be staying with us here on the farm.

We’re taking a break from the farm for a couple of days to camp by Lake James. Puppies had to join in the fun. They got their first tug toys to celebrate the occasion. I’d say they approve.

It’s gotcha day for Chandler and Joey!! Monica went to her forever home last week in the mountains of NC. Joey is heading to the mountains, too. Chandler is heading toward the piedmont of NC. Only three pups left looking for their new homes and farms.

We have three adult border collies. Snoopy is 14, blind, and pretty much deaf. He’s the son of Jeremiah’s dad’s last border collie, Ring, and my mom’s last border collie, Jake. He has never herded and I don’t think he ever would have. Oh well, some pups are just great pets and not great workers. He’s living out his days on and under the porch.

Mac is our primary working border collie. He came from a goat farm in Ohio and is the bestest worker. He loves to herd the cows, sheep, and Snoopy. He also lives car rides, UTV rides, and boat rides. He is the father to Scotty’s pups.

Scotty is a our secondary working dog and mother to our pups. She came from a cattle farm In Kentucky and she has a lot of attitude. We get a lot of eye cuts from her when she does not like what we have to say. She’s a great mom and permimeter alert system. She does not like car rides as much as Mac nor does she care as much for boat rides. But she makes beautiful puppies and guards her family.

Our family homestead was built by the Carver Family in 1864. It has survived the Civ War, fires, and untold other catastrophe’s. Most recently, we had a huge 165 year old oak split in an storm and crash through the garage. This album showcases the progress to rebuild.

Welcome to our page. We are the McCluney Family. The McCluney/Carver Family has been raising Black Angus Beef Cattle on our family farm in Western NC since 1864. We are now the 5th and 6th generation McCluney’s working the same piece of land.

We now also raise American Border Collie Association Registered Border Collies. We train our personal dogs to help us move cattle on the farm and raise litters from time to time.
