Sugar glider's are indeed nocturnal. There is a party in the house all night long. If this is not your scene then perhaps a sugar glider is not for you.
You have the glider that sings
"Who Let The Dogs Out" . Well maybe not sings but, bark, bark, bark. All night. Or maybe just long enough to wake you up. Maybe they want to play, or a treat. However they don't stop barking just because you tell them to. Aww shucks.
They play and play and play. They run through their house like it is a house a fire. Up and down and all around. They literally swing from the roof top. They love their wheel.
Round and round they go, where they stop nobody knows
FOOD: Touchy subject. Lot's of recommendations.
Let me start off by saying this. They are pigs! Total pig's.
If they don't like something they don't set it back in their food dish. Noooo they throw it. It gets on your walls, floor, furniture. Pigs I tell ya.
This can be remedied by making a kitchen and using a cage cover.
If this is not your scene then please pass on a sugar glider
There is the BML, TPG and several other diets. I typically stick with the TPG diet.
However, I do give raw nuts, miniature marshmallows, yogurt covered raisins for the occasional treat. Grocery store. Nothing more than the grocery store.
Be prepared to commit to making a batch of their food at least once a month. Also plan to spend a good portion of your day making their staple. I freeze mine in ice cube trays, then pop them in a freezer bag when frozen.
