Our camps always fill up quickly! If you have a child that would like to attend with a friend, please sign up early to ensure there will be room in the week.

We are so proud of these riders who competed in the 2024 NHHJA show series! All the hard work, early mornings, hot, long days, sometimes showing in the rain - it all pays off! we had a great time at the banquet tonight, recognizing all of our riders who won awards. Good job girls, we are looking forward to the upcoming show season!

We had a good time celebrating Teka today! She is being retired and will go home next week. Thank you for being the best pony! We will miss you Teka!

Fall is a hard time of year for horse owners. We have to assess any fragile horses under our care and think about their wellbeing through another hard New England winter. With that being said, we had to make the hard decision that comes with horse ownership - to euthanize two of our school horses this week.
Cocoa came to us many years ago and has been the best little guy to teach all the first time riders. His youngest riders were often 2-3 year olds and up until last year he was teaching a 90(+\-) year old! Cocoa was a very old pony. He had been living in semi retirement until this past year where it was getting more difficult for him to just walk around and get up and down.
Kai was an especially hard decision. Many of you know we purchased him along with 3 other horses and a mule at New Holland in 2020. After getting through sickness and putting on weight Kai surprised us with how much previous training he had! It was almost as if something with his health was found out and he was dropped at auction for someone else to deal with. And unfortunately overtime we found out that he did have underlying health issues. It’s hard to take a horse like him and make this decision, but after much talk with our vet we knew it was in his best interest.
When we get a school horse at Holiday Acres they rarely leave. They become one of the family and will eventually be buried with the rest of the beloved school horses in the field. When I think of Kai I’m going to remember what a good, goofy boy he was! He was missing a front tooth and liked to flap his lips. He was so handsome and would try his hardest to please his rider under saddle.
Cocoa had big, beautiful eyes. He had such a gentle way about him and was so trustworthy with the little kids.

Saturday the Wachusett IEA team showed at Maple Grove Farm! Middle school won Champion! There were some very good rides and camaraderie from the team as always! One more show before we get ready for Regionals!

Don’t forget Teka’s retirement party is on Saturday November 30th! It’s at 2:00pm. Come wish her well in her retirement and celebrate the wonderful pony she is with us! We will have cake and refreshments and a card to sign. See you then!

And that’s it for home shows this year! The weather was beautiful for our last Wachusett IEA show today! High school was reserve and middle school was champion! Many of our riders qualified for regionals today. McKaylah won the sportsmanship award and Goose was horse of the show! A great day all around - thank you everyone for pitching in!
