Rutland Veterinary Clinic is a full service veterinary clinic that has been serving the beautiful town of Rutland and surrounding communities since 1995. We are located near the center of town at 203 Main Street in one of the lovely old homes of Rutland. Oliver is staying calm and cozy while he is here for his blood glucose curve.
Blood glucose curves are an essential tool in managing diabetes in cats. They involve checking a cat’s blood sugar at regular intervals over a day to see how glucose levels respond to insulin.
A curve helps determine how well the current insulin dose is working, when the insulin reaches its peak effect, and how long it lasts. This information allows veterinarians to adjust insulin type, dose, or timing to keep blood glucose in a safe range and reduce the risk of hypoglycemia or poor control. Regular glucose curves—whether done in-clinic or at home via a device the animal wears, play a key role in improving a diabetic cat’s comfort, stability, and overall quality of life. 🐾
