Help us celebrate Rahmati, our esteemed Malayan Tapir, WHO TURNED 25 YEARS OLD on September 15th! This sweet girl is one of less than 40 Malayan Tapirs currently under human care in the United States and has resided with us at Highland Hills for over six years. We are truly amazed and humbled daily by her beauty, grace, and loving temperament. Cheers to you sweet girl on your special day with many, many more to come...Snoots Up!!

ARRIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT - It's a GIRL!

After many months of approvals, logistical planning, genetic matching, and a 22-hour cross country transport - we are beyond ecstatic to announce the arrival of "Indah", a 5-year-old Malayan Tapir to the farm. Indah has been chosen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Malayan Tapir Species Survival Plan to join our male "Luther" with the hope of breeding success. In doing so, we hope to aid in the long term survival of this species in both Zoos and their natural homelands. Please join us in welcoming this amazing animal to the farm.

would like everyone to say "Hello" to our newest resident - Luther the Malayan Tapir. Luther was born in the US just two short years ago and is one of only 60 Malayan Tapirs under human care in all of North America! This little heartthrob will join Rahmati and Kuzco (our female Malayan and male Baird's Tapirs respectively) as part of our ongoing commitment to endangered animal conservation under the Species Survival Plan (SSP). We are looking forward to the day when he too can become a father for his species. Stay tuned! , , , ,

"Bullwinkle" - our resident Whited Bearded Wildebeest - decided Summer was a great time to add a little umm - color - to his face after the recent rains.

FUN FACT: There are several types of Wildebeest or "Gnu" including the White Bearded, Blue, and Black. Wildebeest herds in Africa boast one of the largest overland mammal migrations on the planet!

When winter brings us cold and grey winter days, Kudu antelope always look to the brighter side - meal time!

FARM FUN FACT: There are two species of Kudu antelope - the Greater and Lesser. “Zulu” our resident male is a Greater Kudu who’s beautiful spiraling horns will reach up to six feet or more when he’s mature. Now that’s a cool twist...

Our family here at Highland Hills is celebrating the “pitter patter” of new little hooves and brimming with anticipation on our upcoming opening in December!
