Day 1
The biggest struggle with horses that love to move their feet like this girl is not dulling your energy to cater to their high energy... instead it is a longer game of let's add ENERGY
The only way you can teach a horse to not exert all of their energy when they react to the slightest pressure or energy is to build a strong foundation from the ground up.
From the time I show them the halter it means "pay attention" but in the same way your parents had you locked on them anytime you were in public. You should feel like the most confident reassuring leader possible to them at all times and your intentions should be pure.
The foundation of trust and respect, sets their entire life up for success
🌲MERRY CHRISTMAS🌲
-Miles
When they're tight and nervous about moving out with the saddle the best thing you can do is give them more space and just let them figure it out
Zena has been saddled multiple times but has always been a little cinchy to the process. I'm pretty sure she was convinced if she tried hard enough she could get all that heavy leather off. Today she finally accepted it and fully moved out
This mare will finally be able to show off in the show pen this coming year 2024 🔥
I bought this 4 year old a few months ago with probably about 10 scattered rides under her belt
First time I saw this mare being rode by another trainer she flipped over with her.... so I very well knew she had an attitude
Little did I not know taking a chance on this mare without ever working with her would be the one of the most life changing decision I've yet to make
She's shown me what it means to stay out of the way and work one day at a time and that's when the magic happens...
I stayed out of her way while she figured out how to move that big body for a few months and then all of a sudden she's coming out after 2 weeks off with just a purpose for life...
I'm so excited to see more of this mares natural style come to life
