ATTENTION BROWN COUNTY, KANSAS RESIDENTS:

Guess who's back?!

I was told I would never make it. But guess what? Here I am, two years later and thriving and the non-compete agreement is behind us!

I can legally take Brown County residents as clients again without the threat of legal repercussion, and I am so thrilled to be able to offer services to you all again!

I realize that we moved an hour south, but that isn't stopping me from still helping out the residents of my hometown county. On days where I have a full schedule of Brown County residents, I will offer discounted travel rates, otherwise you are also more than welcome to bring your pets down to me as well! It's a beautiful drive down through the countryside along K-4.

We have to share this photo again…because a picture can say a thousand words and then some. Lots of people can be cowboys. Few can be cattlemen and understand the hardwork and sacrifices made day in and day out and will understand this photo whole-heartedly. Ranch families take care of their animals 365 days a year. No snow or rain days. No Holidays. Thank a rancher and a farmer no matter which state they are in for their dedication 24/7. ❤️🇺🇸

In anticipation of calving season, and K-State Research and Extension are planning a series of calving schools in January. The program will outline overall calving management that includes stages of the normal calving process as well as tips to handle difficult calving situations. Meetings scheduled include:

We enjoyed hosting the Sabetha Classical Conversations community today to study the anatomy of a pig as they capped off their own anatomy unit for the semester. Couldn't help but talk about veterinary medicine and promote the wonderful producers we get to work with as well! 🤩

We enjoyed delicious prime rib from Bern Cafe and great discussion today at our dairy producer luncheon sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim. Our main takeaway is that treating a case of respiratory disease in dairy heifers is expensive, so it's well worth the money upfront to prevent it! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Thanks to everyone who came out!

On Friday we had a farewell lunch for Anita Rokey after her nearly 5 years of service with us. This will be her last week in the office, so be sure to tell her "thanks" if you see her. Dwight will also be spending more time on the dairy and will no longer be helping Dr. Aaron at the sale barn on Thursdays. We'll miss them both and wish Rokeyroad Holsteins the best!
