I've been grooming Harley for a number of years now. He is not a fan of being groomed but he climbs into the tub, jumps on the table and doesn't protest nail trims. He is such a good dog, I know it's mentally difficult for him. But we know each other, he knows it will all be ok in the end. This groom went smoother than usual and I was so proud of him❤️

Here is the new pricing starting in September. Current clients only, I'm not accepting new requests!

Nail trim $12
Bath $40 includes brushing, ears & nails
Bath & Brush $60 longer coats

Haircuts
< 15lbs. $50
15-30lbs $60
31-50lbs $75
51-75lb. $85
75+ $100 min

It's too complicated to price by breed, but some dogs take substantially longer than others. Particularly poodle mixes. Matted dogs or those that require extra time for any reason may have additional fees.

Giving everyone a heads up that Bark House grooming prices will increase in Sept. Some of you with smaller dogs may not see any increase. The larger dogs, however, take a substantially longer time to groom. Also factored into the increase is the growing cost of supplies, insurance and property taxes the building sits on.
I did a comparative of grooming costs in the area and still think the new pricing is more than fair. I will post the new pricing on this page in the next few days. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
I totally understand if you'd like to check elsewhere for better pricing. Remember senior and veteran discounts are available!

This big boy is Frankie, an Old English Sheepdog. He is only 6months here, a little over 40lbs. All his fur makes him look larger than he is! Weight wise he will easily double over the next year.

This boy is Indy, a sweet Cockapoo I've been grooming the past 4 years. He use to be super reactive with nails and pad trimming. I mean he would turn in a flash, took me completely by surprise the first time. Sweet, friendly and in an instant needing to be muzzled. He would have a complete meltdown. The mats in his pads don't come out easy and they can't be ignored. With patience, sweet talk and reward he has been muzzle free the past 2 years. Communication is key and understanding his fears, I'm so so proud of him❤️

This lovely girl is Isabel, a sweet shy golden doodle. Her coat is gorgeous, and her owners brush her weekly, allowing me to keep it longer. She is probably the shyest dog I groom, when we are done she retreats to a corner to wait for mom or dad. My goal is to get her to relax, though she isn't at all difficult to groom, I certainly don't want it to be so stressful. She did jump to the half door once ready to leave to say goodbye to me❤️

On Jan 31st the website will no longer be available for contacting me. The email address, however, will remain active. Most of my correspondence with the website has been turning down new requests for grooming, as my schedule has been full for quite some time. It just hasn't felt 'nice' to keep saying no and waste potential clients time who are searching for a groomer. So you can still text, call, FB message and email to schedule as usual.

Hoping everyone enjoyed a nice holiday week with loved humans and pets. The past year I was able to bring in a few new clients, but only because of some heavy loss. 2023 marked the passing of Chewee, Scooter, Spice, Ollie, Zoe R, Zoe O., Wynn, Rusty, Bear, Marley, Jameson and Kelly. Sometimes I can sense a last groom of a senior, it is a very emotional experience. The reality of the business as years go by with repeat clients. And some of these were completely unexpected losses. No matter how, I love your dogs, I know it hurts.

I don't expect any real changes for this year. I may drop the website, as most of you contact me another way and I feel terrible declining new requests through the website. I will let you know, the email address may change. I'll be keeping the 4 day schedule Tue, Wed, Fri & Sat.

The pic is my brother's cat, Little Girl! I spent Christmas week trying to win her affection. She did let me pet her, and didn't seem to upset by my presence. I take that as a win!

A few weeks ago a family member asked how many clients I have. So I was curious and looked it up. I'm currently grooming 143 different dogs. The most popular pure breeds are Golden retrievers at 7%, Labs at 5%, Aussies and Shih tzu's at 4%. 30% represent another 21 different pure breeds at 3% or less per breed.

More than half the dogs I see are mixed breeds. Nearly a third are poodle crosses. The most popular being golden doodles 15%, labradoodles and cockapoos both at 5%. 7% represent other popular poodle crosses. 22% are other mixed breeds. Just some data that likely only I find interesting!

So here is Ellie representing the goldens! Love her gorgeous white coat and though she can be quite busy on the table🤣 she sure is a happy girl!

Gizmo sporting her holiday bandanna! She is about 15 now, has some mobility issues but still takes pleasure in my treats. As a Shih Tzu she is all too familiar with grooming and has always been the best girl on the table!

Sadie giving me the look! Usually once I let a 'finished' dog escape the table I'll see a few areas I need to touch up. Either I'll put them back on the table or I'll trim a spot from the floor. So the look is are we done now?🤣

The shop is closed now through Aug 21st as we are on vacation. August is booked, but September still has a fair amount of openings. It's been awhile since I've posted here, but thought it was time to give an update and of course, a cute dog pic. In May I went to a 4 day schedule as most of you are aware. I knew that this would potentially create some delays in scheduling. I do apologize if it's been harder to get your dog scheduled.

I also have had to say no to many new requests. It really is one of the hardest parts of this job, saying no. Many of these requests are from referrals from all of you. So much gratitude to you for suggesting me. Your referrals warm my heart but at this point I am unable to take on anymore new clients.

So I'll end this lengthy post with a pic of Dugan, a handsome young Duck Tolling Retriever. Always super chill about being groomed, always an eye on me for a potential snack!

This boy is Coulson, a pyrenees poodle mix. His owner and I have to lift and push him into the tub for every groom. We literally have to lift each paw onto the steps and hoist his butt up. He's not little ...and he doesn't help at all. He doesn't try to escape he just puts every brake on. But I'm in love with him nonetheless. He is a prince on the table. His fur is so thick, feel like I'm shearing a sheep. But it doesn't tangle, and he is so plush. He is shy and gentle, and today he took a treat for the first time❤

Happy Spring everyone! Starting in May I'll be going to a 4 day/wk schedule. The shop will be open for appointments Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat. Currently scheduled appointments on Thursdays won't change. Just trying to catch up on everything at the house and life in general!

This handsome boy is Otto. He's been on this page before, with a much shorter cut last year. His owners wanted a longer coat for the winter. Like many doodles he has a tendency to mat up without brushing/combing and regular grooming. So he has been seeing me more frequently allowing me to keep his coat with a little more fluff. Not too long, but not shaved, a happy middle ground. It sounds counterintuitive but more frequent grooms allows a longer coat. It's really about working through the coat before you can't.

Good morning everyone. As of this past Thursday I've had to close the shop as I have Covid. I'm not sure what the schedule will be like this week but I will need to test negative and feel better before reopening. It has hit me extremely hard, I've been unable to respond to email or voicemail, hopefully today I can do some. If you are thinking of contacting me for an appointment I ask that you wait a week. If your dog is in desperate need please consider contacting another groomer as appointments already scheduled will likely be pushed forward. If your dog is scheduled this week I will give you a heads up the day before if it's a go. Right now I don't think Tuesday is going to work. So sorry for any inconveniences. I appreciate your understanding and please, please, stay healthy.
