If your pet was microchipped at either of our locations please know they were microchipped using HomeAgain brand and this does NOT affect you.

If you need to get your pets microchip number to update it in a new database please let us know and we can get that information for you.

In recent weeks there is an increase in the concern for the Avian Influenza also known as H5N1. While the veterinary community is still monitoring this, for now here are a few recommendations we are making. Also, please keep in mind there has been one confirmed case of H5N1 in Kennebunk in a Canada Goose.

-Avoid feeding raw diets that are poultry based. If they are, cook them to an internal temperature of at least 165F.
-Consider keeping your outdoor pets inside to lessen potential contact with birds. This virus is highly transmissible through f***s, blood and saliva.
-Consider removing bird feeders from your yard. This will decrease the wild bird population coming near your home.
-Avoid letting your pets interact with birds or bird carcasses.

🦷 Check out this great video explaining your pet’s dental visit to learn more during National Pet Dental Health Month! Like your 6-month dental check-up (but you can sit still and open wide), the vet assesses your pet’s eligibility for anesthesia and develops an appropriate treatment plan. Once anesthetized, your pet's teeth are cleaned, which includes scaling and polishing them, dental x-rays are taken of each tooth to evaluate root structure, and any tooth causing a problem is extracted. While thinking about your animal losing many teeth can be daunting, rest assured that animals do really well with less, or sometimes, no teeth! Animals do not need to chew their food to eat, so they do not need their teeth.
