Adoption - Spay/Neuter - Humane Education Join us.

The mission of the Sacramento SPCA is to foster a loving and compassionate community for animals and people by providing assistance, creating lifelong relationships, and saving lives. Since 1892, we’ve worked to reduce pet overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter services, promote the humane treatment of animals through education and outreach, and assist pet owners through a variety of programs and services designed to keep pets and their families together for life.

“Batman’s punches?!” You ask?

Zap!, Wham!, Splat!, Pop!, Pow!, and Bam! are adorable and their names come with complimentary punctuation marks. They are some of the last kittens of 2024 who are ready to start the new year off in a loving home.

We aren’t exactly sure what to call Boaz.
Doodle? Sighthound mix with his barrel chest? Wizard with beach waves?

We might not know what breed he is, but we can say he is a nice, chill, quiet guy who may do well in a calm home. He’s also lived with dogs before!

What mix do you think he is?

Chloe & Lacy are senior sisters looking for a home together!

These gals are the definition of “easy-going” and are masters in the arts of napping, cuddling, chillaxing, binge TV watching and lap warming. They have received senior specials (dentals, bloodwork, etc) and are ready to find their new family!

They are currently in a foster home and not at the shelter. Interested?

Happy Sunday!

We did not have a Feral and Community Cat Clinic today, but we can share our Sunday numbers for 2024:
3,328 feral and community cats were altered during our Sunday clinics - an average of 62 cats per clinic.

Thank you to the staff, volunteers, trappers and everyone else that assisted in helping these cats receive spays and neuters!

(We’ll be sharing the rest of our 2024 days later this week but hopefully you enjoy the sneak peek!)

Some breeds come in waves and it seems 2024 is going out with a Doberman bang!

We told you about Macki earlier this week (who was adopted!) and then 3 more Dobies popped up! The best part? All three have their ears!

Nala - 6 year old female, lived with dogs and kids (scheduled to be spayed today, but should pop back up on the website next week!)
Nelson - 3 year old beefcake male with no history with other animals
Beau - 1 year old blue male, lived with dogs and older dog-savvy kids/teens
