We strive to do this in a family atmosphere where we treat your pet as if they were our own. Our team includes three full time veterinarians, and a staff of twenty plus!
Each year we have 3rd year UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine students come our way for two week externships. Victoria has spent the last two weeks working with our doctor team and technicians to help diagnose and treat our patients. In these pictures, Victoria is working with Cardiologist Dr Jackson and our Medical Director, Dr Fisk. We wish you the best Victoria. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you.
“Tucker” and “Sadie” were back for their second puppy plan visit earlier this week. They’re growing up fast and still cute as a button.
We meant to share this cutie pie picture of “Stella” from a few weeks ago. She was so cute and adorable and she was a good sport when we hugged her fifty million times.
Two peas in a pod. “Tucker” and ”Sadie” had their first visit at Arden today and they saw Dr Pines. Precious might be one word to describe them.
Surprise, surprise. We have even more charming patients to share with you. Meet “Tiny Tim.” He is so precious and adorable and brave. He’s only mildly annoyed with us today. Happy Monday 😃

Here at Arden, we have an unwavering commitment to socialize every puppy. This little cutie is “Ponyo” and she loves to give kisses and wag her tail when you talk to her. She’s here for her first puppy exam. She’s so brave.
Please join us in giving Dr. Pines an enthusiastic welcome to our hospital. She and her husband have moved from the east coast and her search for an independent, family owned hospital started and ended with us. We are absolutely thrilled she's now part of the Arden family.
Dr. Pines loves general practice medicine and has a particular interest in dentistry and managing chronic diseases. She has a wonderful bedside manner, loves to educate so you know what's happening to your pet, and will work with you to take good care of your pets.
Her first day at Arden is Monday, April 1st. No joke.

What a perfect afternoon spent wishing Dr. Frances Tobey all of the best as she sets off on her next career adventure at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine!! We will all miss her tremendously but don’t be surprised if she pops into Arden every once and a while to work a Saturday and to check up on us❤️🐈⬛🐾🐕🦺

Thank you all so much for entrusting us with helping you over the years with your boarding needs. We have genuinely loved taking care of your pets in this capacity! This year we have made the difficult decision to end our boarding services. There has been an increase in pet ownership, which means an increase in medical needs. We will be repurposing the areas of boarding for an additional exam room and a dental suite, along with other changes that will help our veterinarians and team support and care for your pets more efficiently.
We will no longer be doing daycare or overnight boarding effective March 1, 2024. Thank you again for letting us take care of your pets in this capacity.
We have some bittersweet news to share. Our beloved Dr. Fran Tobey has accepted a teaching position at the UD Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She starts her new position in March. She absolutely loves to teach and we know she will do a phenomenal job shaping the hearts and minds of future veterinary students for years to come.
Dr. Tobey has been an integral part of Arden Animal Hospital since she started working for us over ten years ago. Our clients and staff love her. She has touched and helped so many families and we are truly grateful for her service and care. We will miss her dearly as we know you will too. She has promised to work a few Saturdays in the months to come, so some of you may be lucky to still see her when that happens.
Please join us in saying a very heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr. Tobey. We'd love to hear of any special moments you or your pet had with her. She is a remarkable veterinarian. This is not goodbye. It's see you soon.

We meant to post Bowie’s first visit pics from his recent visit. He is so fluffy and cute, it’s unbearable. He was well mannered, cute, and loved the treats we gave him to distract him during the exam and vaccination part.
Viper, the cutie pie kitty, has been boarding with us this week. He loves to stretch, sleep, and play with grooming devices. Hope you have a great Friday

We told you we’re on a roll. It’s a wave of puppy love today. This hansome fella goes by the name: Louie. He’s a 13 week old French Bulldog and his special talent is giving the worlds best hugs. He loves squeeze cheese, especially when we need to do a medical procedure or give him a vaccine. He’s perfecting his “can I have another treat” gaze. Is it working?
We’re on a roll today. Here’s Gizmo. She’s so darn cute!!! She’s a five month old ooodle mix and she’s here for her last puppy exam and vaccibr visit. Her special talent is stuffing her cheeks with treats and then hiding them. We love you Gizmo!
Brave, little Georgie just completed his first visit to the vet today. He is some precious and adorable. He’s working on his confidence and hopes to some day be a dashing, charming adult Scottish Terrier.

From time to time, we have students interested in a career in veterinary medicine come our way to gain some first hand experience. Logan join us this week to learn more about what it takes to be a veterinarian. He is a talented, determined, hard working young student who has a big smile and a twinkle in his eye because he knows his future will involve working with animals. He has a special connection to Arden Animal Hospital; he’s Dr Kendall’s great nephew. We love having you this week Logan and we’re gonna keep an eye on you … vet school, class of 2038 ❤️
Jack, one of our favorite patients, wants you to know you still have time to help your pets survive the 4th of July celebrations. During this holiday, you may be traveling with your pets or having them stay in a boarding facility or with a petsitter. You may even be thinking of ways to make things as peaceful and stress free as possible for them at home. We only have a few appointment slots left in our schedule to update vaccines or have your pet examined if needed to obtain medications. For those of you who've already put in your request for mediation that helps pets relax on the 4th, thank you for the advanced notice. We still have a few days left to process these medication requests, so act now and give us a call.
Besides using anti-anxiety and anti-stress medications for your pets 4th of July experience, we encourage you to close your windows, turn up the AC, turn up your TV volume to high and try using a Thundershirt wrap that can help reduce anxiety and stress.
