Meet shortstack Gracie, the newest member of the SSPA fam! She’s lucky enough to have been adopted by our Director herself! Per Delyse: She was adopted from a rescue who stepped in for a man entering hospice who was overwhelmed with 11 dogs living in the backyard. For her, dogs are security and she will continue to grow socially with humans via our playgroups and our behavior team lifting her up!Welcome, Gracie!!! ❤️🥰🥹

😍 10-month-old Martin had a rough start to life, and nothing is better than watching him learn to trust and soak up love! He’s a precious softie who deserves tons of love! Martin is a smaller nugget who’s been great with DOGS AND CATS! He’s house-trained and not destructive. He is very shy and timid with people, and is looking for a special adopter to continue to build confidence. This guy is as sweet, gentle and tender as they come and so deserves a happy new beginning!📧 Email [email protected] to adopt!

Weekend pick-me-up: Remember puppy Joe, whom SSPA pulled from the shelter to get him the medical treatment he needs? Well, check him out chasing after a ball!!! 😍 From hardly able to walk to this - isn’t it spectacular to see?! A huge shoutout to his person Brooke for going the extra mile and then some for this spectacular dude!!! Three cheers for Joe-Joe!!!
Puppy Totina, who was adopted from a rescue in SoCal, is a confident, smart rockstar whose parents are wanting to socialize her safely and appropriately. As dog parks can be hit or miss depending on the dog, Totina has been coming to our facility for regular puppy help, and we realized the work needs to extend outside of appointments. We matched Totina and her mom, Paula, with our longtime PB SOC/SSPA volunteer, Kalin, who has an adolescent rescue that we felt might make a connection. Cider of An Apple Cider A Day, who just turned 1 this week, is a soft girl and working on her confidence. There’s lots of thinking and navigating that Cider had to decipher today with Lil Ms. Confident, but with continued play and guidance from parents, the two will be able to help each other! Dogs helping dogs within and outside of our facility - what could be better?
Lil nugget Frankie, whom SSPA pulled from Oakland Animal Services, meeting our helper dog Sasha and the crew! Look at awesome Sasha trying to initiate play and how freakin adorable this dude is! Please note: He’s not up for adoption yet!
