While the cat was away, the mice played!! Happy Peaches in the yard with Chelsea Mae Polhemus’ daughter, Payton!

Pastures moved, driveway horse goo scrubbed off, garbage recycle and green up on the road, weeds pulled, back of the barn and all 20 supplement buckets scrubbed, counters and woodwork cleaned and dusted, horses happy dogs happy!! I’ma gonna’ go

Sharing a post of a beautiful black lab…☹️☹️😢

This is a heads up for people lucky enough to have a lab in their life. Our girl Dori came down with a UTI and sent home with an antibiotic. Not her first as she was susceptible to urinary problems. A little more than a week later she was stumbling and falling and could hardly walk. We brought her to the emergency vet but there was nothing they could do and we lost our girl. What the emergency vet told us is that the antibiotic prescribed (sulfatrim) most likely caused her liver to fail and sent toxins into her blood affecting her brain. We were told that labs are affected by this drug and similar drugs. It takes about a week to 2 weeks to harm the liver. This family of drugs should also not be given to dogs with urinary stone problems which our Dori had. Please be aware that these antibiotics can do irreparable damage. We miss Dori more than I could ever imagine and I'd hate anyone else to suffer the same fate.

Excuse me for being cynical, but I have to say what a delight it is to have really nice roads again around Sacramento. Some of them that have been garbage for a decade or more are now nice and smooth! 🙂
Go figure, there’s an election coming up! We had to maybe have a more often and we won’t feel like we’re living in a very old old rundown city. End of rant.
