Last night was a night to remember! I had the honor of standing among Graham County’s top 10 finalists for Small Business Woman of the Year. Being recognized as a finalist was humbling, and sharing the evening with such talented, driven women was truly inspiring. These incredible ladies have poured their hearts and vision into their businesses, each one making a unique mark on our community.

Congratulations to Taylor Banks for a very well-deserved win and recognition! She shared something that hit really close to home, a sentiment that I think resonates with so many of us: this award is for all those who know what it feels like to be so close to the edge of burnout. Hearing that felt like a wave of validation, a reminder that our hard work, even in the face of exhaustion, truly matters.

We also had the pleasure of speaking with Gail Griffin, whose support for local businesses and small business owners is felt deeply in our community. Her encouragement and insight only added to the night’s incredible energy.

October, Small Business Woman Month, couldn’t be more fitting to celebrate the achievements of women-owned businesses that work tirelessly to uplift, inspire, and serve. To each woman I met last night – your stories are a testament to passion, resilience, and the power of community. Here’s to us all continuing to reach new heights together!
