This 2021 AQHA reining stallion, 𝙂𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙒𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙, is by the great Gunnatrashya (who is an NRHA Hall of Fame sire with offspring earning over $12 million) and out of Dun with Black Gold (a grand daughter of the great Wimpys Little Step. This young stallion is showing amazing potential with big stops and proficient, quick spins. His showing debut starts late this summer with the beginning of Futurity season, which includes the Michigan Reining Horse Association Futurity. Gunna Win the Gold is a 6 panel genetic tested negative. 𝙂𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙒𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙 is proudly owned by Rob and Michelle Gilman of Rafter Bar G Quarter Horses.

𝙂𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙒𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙 is under the care and guidance of Bill Thomas of Bill Thomas Performance Horses. Bill is the highest NRHA Open money earner in Michigan and holds multiple World Championship titles as well as top placings at the most prestigious Quarter Horse shows in the country. Bill has also trained multiple World Champion, Congress Champion and NRHA Champion horses and Non Pro riders. Bill has over 35 years of experience training and showing reining, cutting and working cow horses. He trains out of this 26-stall barn located in Saginaw, Michigan. 🏆 Congress Champion 🏆

Great Pepto Pine is a 2018 Quarter Horse mare standing 14.1 hands. She has over $7500 in NRHA earnings with limited showing. At the 2022 All American Quarter Horse Congress she won a youth class and was third in the novice horse non pro. “Molly” has been shown and maintained by a 15 year old, and has had success in both youth and non pro events. She is super sweet and easy to ride. No habits, no maintenance, and acts more like a gelding. Ranch potential as well.

A win is a poignant moment, but it is especially special when it is on a horse that you grew up with. Calla Thomas was there the night that Great King Jack (Great King Pine x Great Red Jackie) was born, and the team grew up together. It wasn’t until last year that the duo began showing together, but they performed seamlessly during Friday’s Youth classes in the Adequan® Arena, resulting in a score of 215 that won the ancillary Youth 13 & Under and Reserve in the NAAC Youth 13 & Under.
The smiles were big as Thomas beamed about her run. “He turned really good to the right. We got shut off good, and then we went to the left and I had an underspin. We did circle really good, and stopped great,” Thomas said. “I thank my parents who have trained Jack and me, and everyone who has ever helped get me where I am today, and of course, I thank Jack. He is a really special horse.”

Here is the SHOWBILL WITH NCHA ADDED Please note:
The Derby and Futurity for Non-Pro's is a Limited NP. We went thru the number of entries for the last show for Limited Non-Pro riders (boxing only) and Non-Pro riders (those going down the fence) The entries for those boxing only (limited Non-Pro's) far outnumbered those going down the fence (Non-Pro). Due to the prizes (saddle and Jacket) we want to make sure we are catering to the highest number of entries for the classes.
Next year will make sure the saddle once again goes to a different division as we did this year from last year!

That being said, those Non Pros with 3 year olds, and 4/5/6 year olds that qualify as a Limited Non Pro rider (per NRCHA rules) can compete for the Jacket and/or the Saddle Prizes!

Limited NP: For NRCHA a limited rider is any non pro that has not earned $750 down the fence. 😊

We look forward to a great show and great competition!
