π LG is on leaf patrol! π
Our goat, LG, is eagerly waiting for the leaves to fall so he can be the first to snack on them! ππ Nothing says fall quite like a crunchy leaf treat!

Love is in the air at the Zoo as American toads sing their soulful serenades in hopes of finding the perfect partner. Amphibians such as toads utilize water sources like the Zoo's wetlands pond to breed and lay eggs. We're thrilled to see so many of our amphibian friends using the pond, as the presence of amphibians is a great indicator of a healthy and thriving ecosystem. These toads are one of the many species of native animals and plants that you can find in and around our wetlands pond here at the Zoo.
Stop by the pond on your next Zoo visit to observe the toad-ally awesome wildlife for yourself!

ππ΄ It may be the first of December, but we are still having fall fun with mini horse, Sandman!
Enrichment activities are not only fun for our animal friends but also essential for their physical and mental well-being. Sandman's pumpkin adventure is a perfect example of how we create a stimulating environment for our residents.

Nero made her trek outside!
Visit her daily from 10am to 5pm!π
Join us today for our event, Recycling: What You Can Do from 11am to 2pm!
Recycling 101, learn what you can do to help the environment, and what simple changes you can make to reduce and reuse (Like Mouka here reminding us to stay hydrated with her reusable water jug!).
Recycling is a great way to decrease the amount of trash that ends up in wildlife habitats.
Styrofoam is not biodegradable, so it gets trapped in landfills and habitats where animals ingest it. The Saginaw Childrenβs Zoo is a Styrofoam collection site! The next time you visit us donβt forget to bring your Styrofoam to be recycled! For details on what Styrofoam we can recycle check out our website https://www.saginawzoo.com/dart-foam/. β»οΈ
As you can see from Melinda, your animal friends here at the Zoo sincerly appreciate all the enrichment wish list item donations!
