WOW, my ladies lost their friend Charlie, the flat coat, (to kidney failure 😞) and our little buddy Alfred went blind😢. Isn’t it amazing how fast things change in our lives. We will miss running this pack around the property! ❤️💔

We are so proud to announce the newest member of Meadowland Kennels pack, Sully McDonough.

As of the new year, she has signed on as my apprentice/assistant, and I in turn will help mentor her through her dog training schooling.

She is originally from Leominster mass and a recent transplant into Maine, as am I!

Her family has been in the dog business for a long time owning an online dog store that started out specializing in joint supplements for dog suffering from ACL issues. After graduating high school, she decided she wanted to become a balanced dog trainer! Which is perfect for me as that is how I got started in the business over 12 years ago when we opened The Happy Retriever in Holliston mass.

Our goal together is to make sure that all the dogs that enroll in our board and bump program are well cared for, well exercised and handled as if they were our own pups. We are also both enrolling in dog breeding courses, as Brooke should be heading into heat in the next month or two and will we be collaborating with Excalibur Labs in Acushnet mass for stud service. Then we will be on our way to starting our breeding program. As you can see, the ladies love ❤️ her.

Let’s all give her a warm welcome into the THR and MLK packs!! I can’t wait for our new chapter to begin!

The ladies and I, kitty kitty 🐈‍⬛ included, are heartbroken 💔 to hear we lost Charlie to kidney disease last month. “Charles in charge”, you will be missed and Brook will never have another BFF like you! RIP 😢

Here is a quick glimpse of Bailey out working at Mason Park in Pittsfield this morning, focusing on heeling and auto sits. She is enrolled in a boarding program this week while her family is on vacation and Michael offered to work on some on leash/ off leash manners, as she was not a great leash walker. Not bad for her second day! Meadow came along for morale support! 😁

Fun day of field trips today for these two boys! Tank (black shepherd) and Bear (Belgium Shepherd) enjoyed a nice walk at Mason Park in Pittsfield. These two boys are enrolled in our board and bump program while their families enjoy a nice vacation.

The kitty kitty 🐈‍⬛ is always the life of the party!

Black Betty came to us as a stray kitten a few months after we moved in and quickly became the kennel cat. She tries to befriend all the dogs that stay with us, whether they are cat approved or not. No matter where we are on the property, she always has to join the pack! She has a special relationship with Charlie (flat coat retriever), as you can see in the video. We could watch them love on each other all day! ❤️

Charlie (flat coat retriever) is spending some nice quiet time relaxing with his lady friends after a nice hike. He is enrolled in our board and bump program for an extended stay while his family travels abroad. We love when he visits as he is such a gentleman and loves to run it out with his BFF Brook.

Rosebud boarded with us this weekend and her BFF Brook was over the moon 🌝 with excitement!!

We have not seen her since she was adopted out via Penny’s Pals Dog Rescue and it was so nice to spend a couple days with her. Her new family just adores her and it shows. ❤️

Sprocket had a great stay with us while his parents were on vacation! What an amazing boy. He trained with us over 7 years ago and boards with us a couple times a year. Look at that obedience still today. He is such a speed demon with great response and positioning. You still hold your title as rocket 🚀 man! Love you sprocket!!

Winnie "meme" don't blink, as time goes by so fast.

We have known Winnie her whole life. The pictures of her below are when her parents first brought her home with a toy I made her and then again today, seven years later! Her and Michael have a bond that cannot be explained. We have not seen her in two years and when she saw Michael awaiting her at the door they both cried! Thank you for spending your April vacation with us. Please don't wait another two years, Winnie!

Casey enrolled in our board and bump this week for April vacation while her family traveled. She is such an amazing girl and loves field trips, so she came shopping with us to tractor supply. Enjoy!

What a great vacation week of training this week. Here are some of the board and train dogs working their in home obedience while we get some chores done. No matter the weather, there is always a way to train and mentally stimulate your dog 🐕. Since it is only a 🥶 11 degrees outside we thought we would share a glimpse of what we do on days like today.

Great first day of vacation for the pups on the farm. Our ladies (labs and shiba) ❤️ love love having their friends sleep over. Bruce (the Dane) working on his off leash skills and dog socialization, Tank (black shepherd) worked on his impulse control on the deer 🦌 trails, Jackson (darker golden) had to take the biggest stick with him on his hike 😂 and Casey Gold (golden) had a blast exploring the woods and chasing her friends. Michael and I are so lucky to have the best boarders ever!
