We are currently reviewing over 200 applications for one dog, the Golden Retriever, Jace who’s been in our care for 4 days and boxer mix Gina had been with us for over 60 days without an application in her file! We have so many wonderful dogs in our care! Don’t pass them up because they are a little older than Jace or mixed breed. They deserve a forever home too.
Merry Christmas from all of us at KCHF!! Our dogs got to enjoy a very cool donation from I'll be Doggone LLC in Mokena and their giving tree! Every single animal in our care received a gift and we are so blessed and thankful to have people who care as much as we do for these animals waiting on their forever homes!

Kankakee County Humane Foundation is a community focused organization serving animals in need since 1963! KCHF is a recognized 501(c)(3) charity, operated exclusively as a non for profit agency. KCHF adopts out our animals to safe, loving and caring homes through an application and screening process. The Foundation supports responsible pet ownership by performing background checks and validating personal and veterinary references listed on adoption applications. KCHF maintains a shelter to house the dogs and cats in our care. Some of the puppies and kittens and some dogs and cats are fostered to expose them to in-home living, manners and socialization. We provide community support by engaging in animal welfare advocacy throughout the year.
We are so grateful for our supporters who help us keep all of the animals in our safe, healthy & happy until they can find their forever family. With your generous donations, we can continue to offer animals the love and care they may not of received before coming to KCHF.
