I always have people ask my why my dogs don't mind fireworks or loud noises (AKA gunfire). It 's because they associate it with fun retrieves. I slowly introduce my dogs to gun fire over time and they first time they hear a full shotgun isn't until they are about 4 months old or older... and even then it's not directly next to the dog. Here is a video I made on this process.
