Today’s sound exposure: FIREWORKS!🎆 I feel so bad when 4th of July and New Year’s Eve rolls around and SOOOOOO many people’s dogs panic and run off. Others have to be heavily medicated, because they get so stressed out. It’s not a fun time for a lot of dogs and dog owners. Today, we introduced a recording of fireworks to our 3 weeks old puppies, and gradually increased the sound. The puppies were a little startled at first, but quickly realized everything was ok and they were safe. They settled in for a nap after about 3 minutes, and we spent a total of 30 minutes listening to the recording! 🐾Tonight’s sound exposure is the blow dryer! If there is one thing you need to know about owning a doodle, it’s that regular grooming is SOOOO important! At #WildBlumDoodles we introduce the sound of the blow dryer first, and then move up to a more high-pressure grooming blower. This desensitizes the puppies to this specific sound at a young age, and in the long run, makes for a happier (and less anxious) adult dog, dog owner, and dog groomer! The puppies listened to this for about 2 minutes and even got hit by the warm air a few times, but they did great! We will continue exposing them to a variety of sounds and objects before they join their FURever families in 5 short weeks🥰 There are still a few available spots on this litter!
