With very sad hearts, we share the news with our AMC family that we said goodbye to our dear Milo yesterday. We are all crushed. Milo was more than a "clinic cat" to us, our families, clients and patients. He was a court jester, a therapist, a pesky little brother, a patient warmer during dentals and after surgery, a welcoming committee especially to unsuspecting dogs, an escape artist, a crabby boy, and a friend to us all. When we had to practice curbside during covid and stress was high, he kept us all laughing and offered lots of cuddles and humor. He has comforted clients as they awaited news of their own beloved pets, he hated having his nails cut, he wasn't the best groomer and smelled most of the time (which Mandi's dog, Sinder, absolutely loved about him!), he loved Churu and he loved how Krista poured her love into making his medication mixture every day! Milo came to us a kitten born with bad kidneys and a spicy will to live! His care would have been a lot and very intense for his original owners, but like us, they didn't want to euthanize a kitten who was so sweet and curious, so they gave him to us to care for the best we could until his kidneys said it was time. And that's what we all did... Early on when he was sick he went home with staff or doctors on weekends (that was always fun and interesting!!) and our families fell in love with him too. As he got older and was doing well he stayed at the clinic and had the run of it all day long and all weekend. He welcomed mail carriers, food delivery people, UPS and FedEx drivers, our cleaning service and anyone else who was new and who he might be able to sneak out the door with to explore the bushes outside! Alyssa got many war wounds from him and those scratchy bushes trying to dig him out to take him back inside. He went to the Anderson Walk for pets with us in a kitty stroller and loved seeing all the dogs and got a lot of attention from admirers. He loved to sun himself in the canine reception area...isn't that what it's for?! And he loved laying in his window hammock on the feline side. He definitely earned his angel wings and halo by allowing us to dress him up in all sorts of outfits (but he didn't like the bumble bee costume Dr. Amy got him AT ALL!) Although he was only with us a short 6 years, his big personality and huge heart has made us feel like he has always been here with us. We all have so many wonderful memories of him, I know he will be watching over us and making sure his people are OK. Please excuse the photo dump, we all have so many and they are all perfect, we wanted to share every side of his amazing personality!! Please feel free to share any memories you all may have of Milo. Rest easy, little ginger cat...we love you dearly😽🧡
