The city of St Elmo is going to be oiling the highlighted roads tomorrow morning. 8th street, which runs parellel to our front parking is included. Please be mindful of this when arriving for your appointment.

Looking ahead, our clinic will be closed Monday 5/27 which is Memorial Day.
Please spend some time remembering and honoring those who have served to protect our freedom. Just remember to keep your furry friends away from greasy grills and ingesting fatty foods or bones! Post holiday pancreatitis is no fun for anyone and can be scary!

It looks like we might be seeing an emergence of cicadas in the area. Cicadas are not toxic to dogs, but have a hard exoskeleton that could be rough going down or coming back up. Cicadas seem to be a delicacy to dogs, but it’s probably best to avoid GI upset to prevent dogs from eating them.

Apparently it is International cat day!
Our clinic kitty, Ember, keeps us on our toes and the jury is out if we are celebrating her today. Haha! If you’ve met her, you’ll know she’s a tad “spirited.” She will routinely nap in the doctors’ desk chair and then “yells” at us when we move her. Honestly, she yells when we make her do anything that isn’t her idea. These where her places of choice today.

It’s hot!! Bring your pets inside. If you can’t, make sure they have shade and plenty of water. Sidewalks and asphalt get too hot for dogs to walk on. Temperatures will rise fast in a vehicle, so don’t leave your pets in the car… it could be deadly in this heat! Heat stroke is real and can be fatal.
