Crystal Winds Ruby Moon (Nolan x Luna) went to the National showcase. She placed 3rd at once of the preshow in a large competitive Open Red. Out of coat and coming in season. The winner of the class was Winners bitch and 2nd was reserve so she was in good company. Ruby is owned and loved by Jill Frieders co-owned by us and shown by Jenna Vermette Grow.

There is a viral post going around about the tragic loss of yet another Australian Shepherd to a combined flea and tick product. There is more to drug toxicity in our breed than the MDR1 gene test and results.

Unfortunately Washington State University has redesigned their website removing all references to drugs not to use. Instead they list commercial products that are okay to use. Unfortunately their updated website will cause more harm to our breed, than they will make safe with their new format.

If you have a question about any drug, chemical or toxin being used on your Australian Shepherd, just do an internet search for a "adverse canine reactions [list the name of the drug or product]." While some may argue that this data is not based on scientific evidence or a database, I will argue back that there have been NO scientific studies done on our breed being harmed by these products, there is no database set up to collect and report this evidence, many vets discount any adverse reaction to a vaccine or a product they provide, and...the experience and evidence from breeders and owners is worth paying attention to.

I recommend that no Aussie owner ever use the combined flea, tick, heartworm medications...ever.

Kuma x Glinda party of 2
Glinda only had 2 puppies : perfect timing, surgical intervention, great quality semen but only 2 puppies. They are adorable and had their first visitors yesterday. They are used to the other dogs and the 3 kitties.

Macadamia nuts are extremely dangerous for dogs but it’s unknown exactly why. If a dog eats more than 2g of nuts per kilogram body weight, he needs immediate medical attention.

Watch out for these symptoms:
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Ataxia
⚠️ Weakness
⚠️ Hyperthermia
⚠️ Depression
