🎄 Day 10 of 25 Days of Christmas: Meet Kira! 🎄

Kira is a 19-year-old Lippizan mare with a dazzling background in the dressage and hunter jumper show rings. Now retired from competition, she’s found her second calling here at GaitWay as one of our newest and most cherished herd members. 🐴

Kira’s quiet confidence is truly special—she helps her riders feel at ease in the saddle while encouraging them to grow and master new skills. 💕 Whether it’s a calm walk or a more focused lesson, Kira brings grace and wisdom to every moment.

Max is a gorgeous Appaloosa and one of the younger members of our GaitWay herd. Known for his distinctive spotted coat, Max is as unique as he is talented. 🐴

Hailing from a working Western background, Max has quickly proven his versatility by mastering both English and Western riding. His adaptability makes him a favorite among our riders. 🌟

What sets Max apart is his remarkable sensitivity—he’s so in tune with his riders that he can communicate and respond with the subtlest of movements. His intuitive nature is a testament to the special bond between horse and rider. 💕

🎄 Day 8 of 25 Days of Christmas: Meet Raude, the Matriarch of GaitWay! 🎄

Raude (pronounced Row-da) holds a special place in our hearts as the founding horse of GaitWay—our beloved matriarch. 🐴 At 27 years old, this Red Dun Norwegian Fjord mare has a legacy as rich as her gentle spirit.

Before joining GaitWay, Raude lived in Minnesota, where she was a broodmare, raising eight wonderful foals. She also enjoyed a life of leisure, ridden for pleasure and pulling sleighs and carts over snowy hills. ❄️

Today, her sweet nature and steady rhythm make her the perfect teacher for our youngest riders, helping them build balance and confidence one step at a time. 💕 Raude truly embodies the heart and mission of GaitWay.

🎄 Day 7 of 25 Days of Christmas: Meet Alisa! 🎄

Today, we're shining the spotlight on Alisa, one of our passionate Riding Instructors here at GaitWay! 🐴

Alisa didn't grow up around horses, but that didn't stop her from chasing her dream. At 18, she began cleaning stalls in exchange for riding lessons and, by 19, purchased her first horse, Slim. She dedicated herself to learning new skills from various trainers and started teaching others. Eventually, she discovered GaitWay through Facebook and fell in love with the idea of teaching adaptive riding. Now, she's an integral part of our team and is pursuing her PATH certification! 🌟

Aside from Slim, Alisa is the proud owner of Aluna, a lovable boxer/lab mix. 🐶 When she's not at the barn, she enjoys reading, writing, and—of course—wishing she was back at the barn! 📚✍️

🎄 Day 6 of 25 Days of Christmas: Meet Kajun! 🎄

Kajun is our charismatic Gypsy Vanner, a stout draft breed hailing from the British Isles. With his striking black-and-white coat, flowing mane, and dramatic feathering on his legs, Kajun turns heads wherever he goes! 🖤🤍

Before joining GaitWay, Kajun was a well-traveled horse with some unique experiences under his belt—or saddle! He’s been through McDonald’s drive-thrus 🍔 and even danced on a Zydeco dance floor, staying true to his Louisiana roots. 💃

Now, Kajun enjoys helping with lessons and soaking up human attention. Don’t forget his favorite part of the day—treat time! 🍎 If Kajun had his way, he’d be pampered 24/7. Show Kajun some love in the comments if he’s your favorite barn buddy!

🎄 Day 5 of 25 Days of Christmas: Meet Heilo! 🎄

This tall, dark, and handsome gentleman is Heilo (pronounced Hee-Low), a stunning Cheval Canadian Warmblood owned by our Lesson Program Coordinator, Brianna. 🐴

Before joining the GaitWay family, Heilo showcased his strength and elegance pulling carriages. Now, as the largest member of our herd, he inspires confidence and skill-building in his riders. His stoic yet affectionate demeanor makes him a favorite among those who pass by his stall. 💕

When he’s not working with us, Heilo and Brianna love to show off their talents at dressage schooling shows. 🌟 Give Heilo a shoutout below if he’s your favorite gentle giant!

Hammer is one of the treasured members of our herd here at GaitWay! 🐴 This retired Quarter Horse gelding has an impressive history as a hardworking roping and heeling horse before finding his way to our program.

Now, Hammer enjoys his well-deserved, quieter life helping with beginner horsemanship lessons. His sweet disposition and gentle nature make him an exceptional partner for fostering non-verbal communication and building trust with our guests. 💕

🎄 25 Days of Christmas – GaitWay Edition 🎄
Day 3 – Meet Brianna!

Brianna is one of our incredible PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors and our Lesson Coordinator here at GaitWay. Her journey is truly inspiring! 🌟

Having experienced the benefits of adaptive riding herself, Brianna first joined GaitWay as a rider at just 14 years old. Her love for horses and her positive experiences led her to become a certified instructor in 2019.

Brianna’s dedication doesn’t stop there—two of our amazing GaitWay horses, Gretta and Heilo, belong to her, and together they’ve brought home several first-place ribbons from competitions! 🏅🐴

Outside the barn, Brianna is married to her high school sweetheart, Austin, and treasures spending time with family and friends.

We’re so grateful for Brianna’s passion and hard work in making GaitWay a special place for everyone. ❤️

Day 2: Meet Girl!

Girl, a stunning Leopard Appaloosa, When she first arrived, she was a bit rusty under saddle, but with time and dedication from our team, she has truly blossomed.

Now, Girl shines as the perfect lesson horse for riders learning to relax and connect with their bodies. She has a unique way of letting her rider know when they’re in sync, helping them grow in confidence and skill.

We’re so grateful for Girl and her incredible ability to communicate with and support our riders. She’s a true gift to the Gaitway family!

Duke is a Missouri Fox Trotter, a breed celebrated for its unique and smooth gait, making him a perfect partner for beginner riders or those learning to trot. His calm demeanor and eagerness to follow commands help build confidence in his riders, while his loving nature brings joy to everyone he meets.
