I had to break down and get the girls a haircut yesterday. I held off as long as possible due to freezing weather, but they were starting to look like highland cows😂 I am very impressed our groomer got them to play dress up. Just a few short months and these girls will be ready for a new litter of puppies.

I take the worst pictures! Anyway, Ruby went off to Lake Taho yesterday with her new family:) she did really well On her 7 hour car ride, better than my kids would have done:) Ruby loves to be outdoors and exploring new things. She could not have found a more perfect place to live! I can’t even begin to say how grateful I am for the families who have given our babies a loving, forever home. I have not had to stress over if they are being taken care of. Every family keeps me updated and sends me cute pictures of the puppies. We feel like we still get to be apart of their lives from a distance.

We said goodbye to our little Mohawk girl and Abby today. John retired from Boston PD and him and his wife Robyn moved here to St.George a few years ago. This one was not as hard because my kids will get to puppy sit whenever new mom and dad go out of town. Their new family is going to spoil them rotten! You can’t help but be wrapped around their little fingers:)

Our first baby left to her new home today. I’m not over here crying or anything… Someone told me not to get emotionally invested in the puppies, here’s my stance on that; if I am not emotionally invested in the puppies I raise, then you might as well go buy a dog from the Puppy Barn or mill. I can guarantee those people are not emotionally invested. We want our new families to trust that their new fur baby is being loved, cared for, and taught the things that will help them be the best possible versions of themselves. If this means I cry every time one leaves, then I know I did the best job I could do at being their temporary caretaker.

Number one rule!!! Do not let puppies out at the Vet to run around until they have had all sets of shots. I had a few people asking why we kept them in the kennel… short answer, because I love them. Every family that is going home with one of our babies has read and signed a contract that explains the danger of letting a puppy run around in public before they are fully vaccinated.

Play time with the babies is my favorite! We wait around their play pen hoping they don’t take too long to wake up haha. Only a week and a half left with them and I’m already having random moments of tears!!! The people who think that all breeders are treating their dogs as “property, and locking them in kennels all day without a thought or care, I guess you don’t know me at all. I’ve fallen in love with each and every one of these babies. They each have their own unique, hillarious, and sweet personalities. Every one of them has been treated with the same care and respect as my own kids and my 2 sweet momma dogs. We got to know each of their new families through in person meetings, FaceTime calls, and multiple texts keeping them up to date on their new puppy. These families get to see their puppy grow without skipping a beet. I just want to say how grateful I am that I got to be a caretaker for these sweet little ones from conception until just over a week from now. My kids have learned a lot about caring for little ones and the hard work that goes into it.
