Portia Early Romero first arrived at PAWS and ended up adopting a beautiful Black & White 8 yr old beauty in 2016. Soon after Portia and her husband started volunteering with PAWS. Our rescues call them hero’s!
Portia volunteers in our kitten room, at all our events, helping with vet runs, there really isn’t anything we can’t ask of her.
Her love of helping homeless animals is clear.
Portia loves chasing after our kittens during her morning shift to make sure they are gaining weight and healthy, not always an easy task but one we take very seriously.
Come join Portia and the PAWS Rescue Squad this summer. We have openings in our dog/puppy room and our kitten & cat rooms.
We call Volunteering at PAWS human therapy time. Of course we do it for our rescues, but us humans need it too, it fills our souls.
Come join the PAWS Rescue Squad and volunteer helping to save 1000’s of homeless animal’s lives. It’s good or our rescues and yourself!

Pongo is one very special dog. He’s gorgeous, playful, cuddly and happy and most importantly he’s ADOPTED.
His adopters have been coming to PAWS and playing with him for hours getting to know him and making sure he was the right fit, well yesterday we had lots of visitors and adoptions going on and everyone was looking at Pongo, only to be told he was already adopted and going home. The office was filled with adopters when Pongo and his new humans walked in with him. Watch the video to see everyone’s reaction when they saw what was about to happen.
Thank to Pongo’s new humans for taking the time to make sure Pongo was the one for them, he deserves the very best life possible.
