It’s Foster Friday!!

This is foster dog Astrid with God’s Dogs Rescue. She’s approximately 2 years old and the perfect size of about 50 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations, and READY for her FUREVER family!

She will be at the Petsmart at The Forum tomorrow for their adoption event if you want to come meet her and apply to adopt her!!

Fireworks can be a source of anxiety for our pets, so here are some tips to ensure a safe and happy 4th of July for everyone, including our furry friends:

Create a Safe Haven: Set up a quiet, comfortable space where your pet can retreat to if they become stressed. This could be a cozy corner with their favorite toys and blankets.

Keep Them Indoors: Bring your pets inside well before the fireworks start. Indoor environments provide a sense of security and help muffle the noise of fireworks.

Update Identification: Make sure your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up-to-date. In case they get scared and escape, this will increase the chances of a safe return.

Provide Distractions: Keep your pets entertained with toys, treats, or playtime to divert their attention from the outside noise.

Calming Products: Consider using calming products such as anxiety wraps, pheromone diffusers, or calming collars to help ease their stress.

DoD MWD Breeder CConger gave us 13 new potential Military Working Dogs last night and this morning. These amazing puppies will be fostered out to our local community from the age of 6 weeks until they return to The Military Working Dog Center to begin their training at 7 months. If you are interested in becoming one of our Vital puppy fosters, please email [email protected]. General requirements are listed below. Please inquire for details.
1. You must reside within a 2 hour drive of Lackland Air Force Base.
2. No children under 5 living in your household.
3. Must have a private yard with a secure fence a minimum of 6 feet in height.
4. No more than 3 personal dogs.
