Ramona here 👋 just wanted to let you know that she is Chiefs game READY! ❤️🏈💛 She has been residing at the shelter for the ENTIRE football season. 🥺😢 She would LOVE to cheer the team on to victory from the comforts of a loving home tomorrow! 🏡 This lovely linebacker enjoys playing ball and will gladly show off a few skills in exchange for some game day snacks. 😉😋 Ramona is fee-waived and fully vetted. 🚨FREE DOG ADOPTIONS CONTINUE THIS WEEKEND! 🚨

We are no longer in 🆘emergency🆘 status thanks to adopters who opened their home to 15 of our dogs the last 2 days 🥰, but there are still 2️⃣5️⃣+ more dogs waiting patiently for their chance at happy ever after 🤞!

We have several dogs who are currently not available but waiting on their owners to claim them, so while 25 available dogs doesn’t seem like a lot, there are many who are in our kennel but unable to leave at this time. Not only that, but we have taken in 2️⃣1️⃣ dogs this week. The more kennels we can open up, the more lives we can save!

FOSTER FRIDAY!

Symphony’s kittens are 2 weeks old! How precious are these little fluff balls 😍 Momma Symphony continues to be an excellent mother, caring for her kittens around the clock and rarely leaving their side. During the second week of life…

🐱Kittens eyes are opening! 4 of the 5 kittens have opened their peepers- our late bloomer should be opening her eyes any day now! All kittens are born with blue eyes, but most of them change color as they get older

🐱While the babies are still spending most of their time eating or sleeping, they are starting to crawl, raise their heads, look around, and try to prop themselves up on their front legs!

🐱Ears have begun to unfold, but are not yet open or functional at this age. They rely mostly on their sense of smell at this age, which is also developing

Symphony and her kittens are NOT AVAILABLE at this time. Follow their journey with us on Foster Fridays to learn more about kitten development and watch them grow! They will become available around 2 months old and will be first come first serve. Announcement of availability will be posted here at that time. Thank you for your understanding!

🚨 with adoptions few and far between and intakes at an all time high during the colder temperatures we have once again found ourselves at max capacity 😭

We are in a state of emergency to move dogs into homes. We cannot save them all without YOU!

👉Starting tomorrow 1/23/25 through Sunday 1/26/25 ALL dog/puppy adoptions are fee-waived (free). 👈

How ADORABLE are these little kids??? Momma Maui and her puppies are ready to find their forever homes! These pups will be small/medium sized (and some will be extra short!) and will make excellent companions for some lucky homes!

These puppies are currently in foster care. If you would like to adopt…

1) Call the shelter at (816) 271-5363 and leave a message for the kennel supervisor, Aubrey. Be sure to leave your first and last name, a good callback number, and which puppy/momma you are interested in.

2) Calls will be returned tomorrow IN ORDER THEY ARE RECEIVED. We anticipate these guys will fly out the door, so to make things as fair as possible, we will use the time stamps starting with the first message received. IF YOU DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE, YOU WILL NOT BE CALLED BACK!

3) Once you get a call back, set up a time to come meet the crew with their foster parent and pick your new best friend!

4) Bring your photo ID, form of payment, and lots of love!

Meet Spade! The goofy, long-legged Pointer/Shepherd mix! 🖤🐾

This handsome 1 year old boy is bursting with personality and ready to make you laugh! 😃 Spade has a zest for life and loves to zoom around the outdoors with his dog pals, making every moment a fun adventure! In warmer weather he can often be found splashing in the play yard kiddie pools. ☀️💦 He has a beautiful black coat and the silliest expressions! Quite the entertaining character.😁😉

Spade was selected to participate in the Puppies for Parole program and has been working on his canine good citizen training! 🤓📚 He is house-trained, crate-trained, and gearing up for graduation! 🎓 This super sweet, funny boy is an eager-to-please pup! He has practiced and polished all of his basic commands. 👏👏
