Riot came to our shelter as a stray, and it was evident when he arrived that something wasn’t right with his back legs. After a trip to the vet we discovered that he suffers from a congenital defect in his hips which is now developing dysplasia in the hips. We knew his care and treatment would be beyond the capacity of what can be provided at an animal shelter. Luckily for Riot, one of our amazing rescue partners stepped up and agreed to transfer Riot to their care and give him the best chance possible for a new lease on life. Without our rescue partner this wouldn’t have been possible. It’s likely that Riot will need continued treatments and maybe even surgeries to improve his quality of life. We know his care will be costly and would like to raise money to help with those expenses. Moon the Cat
Moon has had NO INTEREST AT ALL. How could this sweet girl still be waiting for a home?!? She been patiently waiting for a family to call her own. Could it be yours?
Moon is a 6 year old grey female cat and is a very special little girl! When she originally came to the shelter, she was very sick and poorly taken care of. She caught the eye of one of our volunteers, who took her home to foster and successfully nursed her back to health.
Look at her now! Moon loves being told how beautiful she is, especially when you compliment her striking green eyes. She loves it when you look at her and talk- she listens intently and has the cutest head tilt like she knows exactly what you’re saying to her. Moon is very loving and enjoys giving and receiving affection. She also loves to play! She will make a wonderful addition to a lucky home, she’s just waiting for the right one to come along.

Yodok has been at the shelter for awhile, and while the staff and volunteers adore him and give him as many belly rubs as we possibly can….we would love for him to get the loving home he deserves.
He’s an awesome dog who adores everyone he meets. Great with other dogs too! He’s mellow, quiet, and well-behaved. There’s absolutely no reason he should still be sitting at the shelter….

A Christmas Eve’s tale for our pups as they enjoy their dinner, supplied by a thoughtful visitor 🎅🏻📖
‘Twas the night before Christmas and the shelter was dark, not a creature was stirring, not a meow or a bark. Their stockings were hung on their kennels with care, in hopes forever families would soon be there. The kittens were snuggled, cozy in their beds, while visions of catnip danced in their heads. The puppies curled up and tucked in just right, dreaming of bones on this warm Christmas night.
When suddenly outside, there arose such a clatter! They had to get up to see what was the matter. They perked up their ears and with nose to the air, caught a whiff of something they couldn’t believe was there.
For what to their puppy dog eyes should appear, but forever families for all with all of their gear. They whined and they whimpered as they smelled the snacks, all brought from families who’d love them right back.
As they walked through the door, the cats let out a sigh, they had beds, treats, and toys packed up to the sky. A new collar and leash they had in their paw, ready with a smile for the dogs that they saw.
They jumped into arms with barks full of glee, thrilled that of all the pets, they picked me!
So was the tale of their adoption night,

It’s National Mutt Day! Help us celebrate by adopting a shelter dog (or cat or Guinea pig) for our LAST DAY OF $25 ADOPTIONS FOR OUR WINTER WISHES ADOPTION SPECIAL!
Playgroup is a great way for our dogs to blow off some steam and have a few minutes of fun, as well as give us good information about their personalities and how they do with dogs. Many dogs in this video are available for adoption TODAY!

Phoebus is one of our longest residents at the shelter and is suffering physically and mentally from being in a stressful environment for too long 😔
🆘 Phoebus needs out of the shelter ASAP.
He is 1 year old and about 40 pounds. Outside of the shelter he is a quiet, affectionate, and mild-mannered boy. He is great for car rides and walks. He would love to go on hikes and picnics. He is an adventurer, and he is very loving and loyal to his people.
We really aren’t sure why Phoebus has been with us for so long. . .
Phoebus NEEDS a foster or adopter to be his hero. 🙏🏻

P.S we always need volunteers to help us close the gap in getting EVERY dog out of their kennel every single day. Currently about 60-70% of our population participates in playgroup, but the dogs that don’t get playgroup can receive enrichment through going for walks or playing with a ball outside or maybe just sitting with a person and getting some lovins!
