As October comes to an end, so does Breast Cancer Month. At the clinic, breast cancer has hit us hard from our clients to our dear mostly-retired clinic manager Kelly. We especially want to raise awareness to metastatic breast cancer. This number has not decreased significantly in nearly 40 years despite a huge movement to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.only an estimated 2-5% of the funds raised for breast cancer research is spent on studies of metastasis. Each year, 200,000 Americans are diagnosed with breast cancer and someone dies from breast cancer every 14 minutes.. Six to ten percent of these original diagnoses are metastatic or stage 4. Another 30% progress from stages 0, 1, 2 and 3 to develop stage 4– maybe immediately or maybe 30 years down the line. With these kind of numbers, it's shocking that only an estimated 2-5% of the funds raised for breast cancer research is spent on studies of metastasis.

This year people from the clinic have participated in the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure and attended the Minneapolis Metsquerade gala held annually but we want to do more.
Keep your eyes peeled for more events and info to come. In the meantime, do your monthly exams and keep getting your mammograms. You are your best advocate!

And we still have a few toys left for breast cancer month, will all the proceeds going to breast cancer research.

Due to ongoing construction, it is easiest to reach the clinic by coming on Minnetonka Boulevard from Highway 100. Our entrance off Minnetonka Blvd, next to the theater buliding, heading towards Menorah Plaza is currently still open!
