I'm the epitome of an adult barn rat raised on eventing and dressage. I've groomed in schooling, rated shows, and fox hunting circles as well as accompanying a top 10 Beginner Novice Rider to the American Eventing Championships. I clip with Andis Xperience and Wahl KM10 clippers and a fresh #10 blade (although T-84 is available upon request). Both of these models are stunningly quiet while also po
wering through just about any coat you throw at them. I utilize blade coolant and oil to keep my blades cool while clipping and my equine charge comfortable. Because of the maintenance required in keeping my equipment in excellent shape, I recommend all of my clients wash their horses after clipping-if possible. It helps clean off excess blade oil as well as often makes the horses more comfortable. The majority of my clients have been sport horses (mostly Dressage) and lesson programs however I am happy to help clip any sport, discipline, and breed so long as you let me know breed standards so I know what equipment to bring with me. Retired horses and horses with Cushings and other conditions (such as anhydrosis) can also be kept more comfortable through regular clipping. I prefer my clients to be present when I clip but if your horse has been clipped regularly with no concerns, I am okay with clipping alone. If they need to be sedated, I do require the owner, trainer, or barn manager to be the one to administer a sedative. This is just to ensure everyone is happy and healthy! I also prefer your horse to be bathed prior to my arrival. There is an extra fee for dirty horses needing to be bathed as it's hard on my equipment. I'm ready to tackle any clip job you throw at me with a smile, a hot towel, and a gallon of Vetrolin Shine.
