Please be advised:

Our wonderful receptionist, Mims, is currently out of the office.

As such, Dr Smoak will be fielding the clinic phone while also out seeing patients today. Expect delays in communication. Dr. Smoak will respond to all texts, calls, and emails as soon as he is able!

If possible, text messages are preferred to keep a streamlined communication open as well as allowing Dr. Smoak to respond between appointments.

At this time, we are unsure when Mims will be able to return to the office, so we ask that you bear with us and be patient as we continue to provide the care that you’ve come to know and love.

We are excited to announce that we have added ANOTHER treatment modality option for both our small animal and large animal patients!!

Let us introduce you to the Summus Medical Laser - a new Class IV medical grade laser that is capable of treating 1,300+ medical conditions such as musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, neuropathic conditions, as well as some diseases of internal organs!

This new treatment option will allow us to provide care for both acute and chronic conditions, and it can sometimes completely remove the need for oral medications!

Laser therapy has been scientifically proven to be highly effective at managing chronic painful conditions, such as osteoarthritis, nerve pain, and many others!

Contact us today at 803-664-0941 to schedule a consult or appointment to see if laser therapy may be what your pet/production animal needs!

*****IMPORTANT UPDATES FOR CLIENTS*****

1) The clinic will be closed on FRIDAY (12/23/22) and MONDAY (12/26/22) in observance of Christmas.

If you need any medication refills, please contact us BEFORE Friday 12/23 so we can have your medication ready prior to the clinic closing.

2) Starting on January 1st, 2023:
We will NO longer be able to allow invoicing for appointments/visits.

While we are deeply saddened about this fact, we have had too many clients abuse this system which is affecting our ability to continue to provide the level of care that we are known for giving to our patients.

Beginning 1/1/23, all payments will be due IMMEDIATELY upon services rendered (I.e. at the conclusion of the visit). Estimates of costs can be provided upon request prior to any procedure/treatment/etc. being performed.

If you are currently already set up on a payment plan that will run into 2023, you will NOT be affected by this change. Your monthly payments will continue as previously scheduled.

3) For medication pick-up requests - we will no longer be allowing meds to be filled prior to receiving payment. Starting on 1/1/23, all medication pick-up requests MUST be paid in full prior to the medication being filled. Once paid for via our payment portal, medications will be filled and ready for pick-up.

We are regretful that these changes have to be implemented; however, we believe these changes will allow us to better focus on providing care to your pets and production animals.

07/18/2022

We will not be seeing patients this entire week (7/18-7/22).

Unfortunately, Dr. Smoak became ill again last Friday, and he is currently recovering. Per the recommendation of his physician, we will not be seeing any patients for the week. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause our clients/patients.

We WILL still be accepting prescription Refill requests throughout the week. If you need a prescription refilled, please send an email to [email protected] with the medication you are needing and the name of the pet that it is for.

Our wonderful receptionist, Mims, will be taking calls today and tomorrow. She will be working on rescheduling last Friday’s and this week’s appointments throughout the day today and tomorrow - so if you had an appointment scheduled, please be on the lookout for a call from Mims.

We apologize for having to close on short notice again, but we look forward to seeing you all when Dr. Smoak returns back to good health!

As always, if you have an emergency for a dog or cat, please contact C-Vets at 803-995-8913.

If you have an emergency regarding a large animal/production animal, please contact the UGA CVM at 706-542-3221.

07/01/2022

We apologize for the last minute notice, but all appointments tomorrow (Friday 7/1) through the end of next week (Friday 7/8) are cancelled. We expect to resume normal operations on Monday 7/11.

In order to provide the highest standard of care to his patients, Dr. Smoak has agreed to follow his own personal physician’s recommendations and that requires us to close abruptly. We are truly sorry, but we must protect Dr. Smoak’s physical and mental health, so he can continue to provide care to all of your pets!

If you had an appointment scheduled during the above closure dates, we are currently working on getting in touch with you to reschedule. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

As always, if you have an emergency regarding a dog or cat, please contact C-Vets @ 803-995-8913.

If you have an emergency regarding a large animal/production animal, please contact UGA Large Animal Hospital @ 706-542-3221.

We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy when it comes to disrespect being shown to our employees.

We understand that sometimes Veterinary situations can be emotional; However, we will NOT allow anyone to treat our staff with disrespect, hostility, accusations, etc.

If faced with these kinds of disrespectful actions, Dr. Smoak will be forced to step in and handle the situation - and believe us: you do NOT want that.

If showing respect for your veterinarian, technicians, and support staff is something you cannot handle, then we will recommend that you seek veterinary care elsewhere, as we will protect our staff so that we can continue to provide pets/livestock with the care they deserve!

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to amicable interactions with you all in the future!
