Hey everyone!!! This is just a quick PSA for all the clients with forever young stables. As we are coming into spring and the start of showing season there is much to be accomplished in very short days and I’m trying my best to accommodate everyone that is interested in training and lessons. As many of you know the program tries to be very flexible depending on the horse and some days things are accomplished quickly and horses progress in those short training sessions but some days need to be longer. Obviously there will be days where a horse needs more extra time than normal and those are exceptions that we all know can happen. However, I will be getting much stricter on the 45 minute lesson/training times. I love getting to spend time with each and every one of you but have to get a lot done in a very short amount of time to get home and present with my boys after school/summer programs. If you have more questions about the lesson/training sessions please feel free to text me and I will get back to you at my earliest convenience. Thank you for your understanding and here’s to a successful 2024!!! ✨

I am so proud of these two! Lily was in training with me a year ago to be started under saddle, Stacey ended up buying her over the summer and their journey has been so much fun to watch as they went to shows and even a mini event and did fantastically!! I’ve had the joy of working with them over the last two months and the progress they continue to make brings me so much joy! There is nothing quite like starting a young horse and then getting the opportunity to continue cheering them on and being a part of their journey! ✨

Skeeter is back at it and better than ever!!!! You wouldn’t even know she had a year and a half off with pregnancy and being a mom by the way she jumped right back into work! She’s always loved having a job, but this just proves it even more! Man I’ve missed this girl and am so happy to be back on her! 💕✨

We had a fun hacking day around the farm and then played in the outdoor for a little bit. It was the first time I’ve had 4 horses in the outdoor at once and it was such a great feeling to ride with friends. ✨

We had an adventure the other day that was just what we all needed. Horses and riders all had such a fun time over at twin towers schooling in the water and over some of the fences. I can not get over how amazing all the horses were and the smiles on our faces during and after are absolutely priceless! 💕✨

Yesterday was our last dressage show of the season, and Sadie went out with a bang! We looked amazing in the costume class, and despite a “bad mare day”, we still walked away with a 67% in her first intro test C! Sadie has far exceeded our expectations for this year and we are so excited to start prepping for next year after a quick break for all. 🖤✨🖤

We had another great show experience with these guys!! This year was all about building confidence and helping them enjoy the show world. Yesterday proved just that! All three of these horses have just blown me away with their progress. And it was very fitting that their first show of the season was at the riding centre and 2 out of 3 will have finished their showing season at the same place. Sadie has just blossomed and this was the first show I was truly able to push her and ask her to answer some tough questions and step up. And she did just that!! Finn blew me away with his calm demeanor and willingness to be a team player. From starting out as the “high school joke” to being my trustworthy team mate, I’m overjoyed with everything this boy brings to the table. Louisa came out and had some beautiful moments! So much hard work has been put into this journey with her and she’s proving more and more just how amazing she truly is!! Each one brought a very special smile to my face and I am so proud to be a part of their journeys. A giant thank you to the owners who have trusted me with your horses. It’s been an honor. And I can’t wait to see where next year brings us. ✨💕

This is how we train every single day. Even if it means it’s a short ride, if they learned and it was a positive teaching moment then we give them their release. Other days it takes longer, and as you school more and more you’ll need more time, but always ride with intention, not a schedule.

Are you riding until YOU feel like you’re done or when your horse is understanding a little bit better? Once you feel that your horse is starting to understand and has good quality to the movements, call it a day and end on a good note. There’s no need to ride until exhaustion if you’ve still made progress in fewer repetitions.

Forever young stables will be taking a step back from the full time training program for the near future. We will be limiting the amount of horses we bring in each month. Due to my young kids heading off to school and finding the balance between that and the growing number of lessons and clinics we are giving, I am wanting to take some time to focus on my personal horses. If you have any questions or have a young horse or horse that is needing some extra time, please reach out. Incoming horses will be limited but we are still training off site to local owners. ❤️ if you have already reached out about the 2023/2024 training season, do not worry. You are still on the schedule for next year.
