The moms of this little mama is very friendly.
This little mama is friendly as well but very clearly had not been held a lot growing up ( which we are working on) but I think the babies will be very friendly!

While we are racking up the vet bills, we do highly rely on donations to continue to help the animals in need!
Now that we are a non profit, anything donated can be used as a tax write off.

Update on the rescues. 1 litter born Wednesday. 2 litters born Thursday and still waiting on the 4th but I think mom is preparing to have them very very soon. I'm guessing today some time.

Hello faithful followers. I wanted to publicly announce a tough decision I have been thinking about for a while.
I am no longer going to be breeding. I'm not sure yet if this is going to be indefinitely but I do know it's going to at least be for a long time.
This page will remain open. I do plan on sharing posts from the rescue on it as we are always getting LOTS of rescue rats in and they need homes too.
We currently have 40+ rescues, both males and females under 6 months of age with wonderful temperaments looking for homes so please if you are interested in adopting rescues, do not hesitate to reach out!

I do thank you so much for understanding. I very much enjoy breeding but there have been so many precious babies out there who need my help and I feel it's not right to currently add to the problem when I can help fix the current problem at hand.
Been a while since the last update. These 2 peanuts are doing amazing. They are MASSIVE! almost 4 weeks old ( tomorrow) each baby weighing over 120 grams ( Insane for their age) and we have an odd eye!
So super friendly, I am super excited to continue to watch them grow and see what wonderful offspring they themselves produce in the future.
They have officially been named moose ( white) and Rocco ( black)
Wanted to post an update as there is some waiting for updates on available babies for adoption. We had some issues arise with litters. We had 2 moms paired and for what ever reason the first mom had some issues and lost her entire litter. Mom is doing well though and is recovering. The 2nd mom had her litter with some complications. 2 babies survived. As of right now these babies will not be available to reserve but I will post updates on how they are doing. I do hope to repair some females soon.
I am not sure what happened but I have heard that I am not the only one who has similar issues. Seems to possibly be something with the cold winter weather? Not entirely sure. But we will make sure everyone is happy and healthy and move forward.

Surprise to everyone still following. I am going back to breeding my well established line on a very small scale and guess what? Babies are coming any day now! Stay tuned for updates!

Ok so. There is something i have been thinking long and hard about for a while now. And I have made a decision. I am putting a hold on breeding for a while. I don't know how long yet.
Just with my full time job and running a full time rescue there is a lot on my plate and I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything.
I will still have rats available for adoption, it just won't be ones I have bred. If you are looking for ratties to add to your family you can still contact me here or you can also get a hold of me at Pets of Destiny .
Thank you everyone for your understanding. When I do decide I am ready to start breeding again I will make another post about it. But please feel free to come by the rescue page as I will be posting adoptable ratties in need of homes on there!
We also have other small animals in need of homes too including guinea pigs and bunnies currently.
Just to keep everyone on the waiting list in the loop, keep an eye on your messanger. I'll be making pairings this weekend and I'll be sending out pics for the pairing updates!
For everyone on the waiting list for the current litters. Please keep an eye on your messanger. I am going down the list to see who is wanting to adopt what and how many. The 2nd litter was much smaller than anticipated so there isn't enough babies to cover the whole waiting list in 1 go, however, I do have plans to be pairing 2 more girls right after the current litters are weaned.
Anyone on the waiting list that doesn't get a chance to get babies from the current litters will get moved up to the top of the list for the next litters. I'm sorry it worked out this way but I thank you all so much for your understanding and patience as we work through the waiting list in order! These babies are totally worth the wait and I know yall won't regret it!

After taking a break from breeding do to the high volume of rescues we took in under the rescue, i am happy to announce our next pairing! The dude and scarlet. I am super excited about this pairing as they have come from lamberts outstanding temperment line. Stay tuned for updates!

It's been a trying couple days. Lambert finally gave birth. I had to assist her and was able to save 6 or the 8. They are currently in with my other nursing mother since Lambert is not wanting to be a mother right now. A bit later I'll see if she wants them back. If not, houdini can raise them. Prayers they will be ok.

Lambert had a good nap and was acting depressed so I did give her children back. Only found 5 of the 6. I think 1 may have passed away. But she perked right up and is tending to all 5 of them right now. Hopefully everyone will be good now but not out of the woods yet.
*second update*
Lambert lost 3 more babies and is down to 2. However, so far those 2 babies are doing amazing. They have wonderful milk bands and mom is always with them. They are both girls and if they make it, they will stay here. Their names are faith and hope!
* third update*
Just to keep everyone posted. We ran into some lacation issues with lambert. The 2 babies remaining were not getting enough food and had still been the size of newborns. I did a bit of switching around and gave lambert 2 of houdinis babies to try and boost milk production. Then over night I gave lambert 10 babies of houdinis and have houdini lamberts 2 wee ones and the 2 I had given lambert earlier in the day.
My hope was that the 10 babies would stimulate her for more milk production and the wee little ones would get a full milk belly overnight.
Guess what! It worked!
Not only did the babies have full bellies In the morning but lambert has had her 2 little ones and the 2 from lambert for 24 hours now and milk bands are still going strong!
Houdini has a final count of 12 beans. I will update when I know about lambert!
Update. Please keep Lambert in your prayers. Things are not going very well for her and I might be taking her to the vet in the morning.
What a day. Hohdini had her babies earlier as you can see below. Lambert is in labor right now! So by tomorrow morning we will have 2 wonderful litters here at the rattery!
