It’s been 1 year since we’ve opened the store!!!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us!
Whether it’s been stopping in to say hi, set up the space, purchase products, shop online, take lessons, work at the counter, or collaborate, we are incredibly grateful to be here.

If I haven’t seen you in a while, please stop in! We miss you. Free dog kisses.

Small businesses are no joke, it takes a lot of time and energy to run day to day logistics. I can’t believe it’s already been a year, time flies when you’re busy working with dogs. We’ve learned many lessons, and continue to grow and change. Always open to hearing new ideas. My goal is to be the one stop shop for dog sporting goods in the Twin Cities. We’re on our way!

Please keep spreading the word that we’re here, I usually meet at least one new person every day in the store, and won’t say no to meeting more dogs!

The next round of Beginner Skills and Beginner Leash Reactivity classes starts Saturday 3/23 at Jack and the Pack LLC in St. Paul.

All our classes are 'open format' and are designed to incorporate each dog's unique L.E.G.S. and the goals/needs of their family.

Our first pack walk of the year has been scheduled and is coming up super soon!

We will be starting at Jack and the Pack LLC (Go check them out!) It will be a City walk and its gonna be a really good one you guys you won't want to miss out! Anyone interested in dog sports should definitely come, Aj can get you all set up with gear needed. I know I'm excited to see all the new stuff she's got!

⭐️ Spring has Sprung! ⭐️ New Musher Group Class this Sunday 2-25-24 🐕 🚲
Learn to bike, scooter, run, or use a rig with your dog/s pulling you as a team!
No previous experience necessary!
Great for dogs that need an extra outlet! We’ve worked with all sizes and abilities: From casual to competitive!
Location: Gateway State Trail St. Paul $60. We bring the equipment, but please bring anything you currently have, and we’ll check it for safety. (Helmet, bike, dog harness).
Some gear will be available for purchase at the class and many options in our store in downtown St.Paul.
Dogs must be at least 1 year old and will need proof of rabies vaccine for sign up!

Had a blast over the weekend at Kidarod!
Hosted by YMCA of the North at Three Rivers Park District.

Dogs enjoyed all the love from the kids and adults, and we were able to speak a bit about mushing.

And with this announcement our winter race season is officially over.
Hopefully next year has more snow!
Thanks to everyone who has organized these events this year, it takes so much effort.
Here’s to spring dryland races! (bike, rig, run, scooter)

Because of how this Winter has played out, and because of current (and forecasted) trail conditions, and because 'healthy happy dogs' runs through our blood, the 2024 CopperDog will have some major modifications to the weekend of March 1st, 2nd, & 3rd.

While the CopperPull and CopperDash are still a go, the CopperDog 150, CopperDog 80, CopperDog 30, and CopperDog 15 have been cancelled.

It is not the kind of news we wanted to share but right decisions in regard to safety will always be our number one priority. And of all the factors there were in the balance, the dogs were what made us make this decision at this time. In the simplest of words; we will not ever put any of these super athletes in a position where there is great chance of injury. No ifs, ends, or buts.

Fear not however, the weekend will still have lots going on!

We are having a street party with music, food, and fireworks. We are having kids' sled dog rides. We are having a mushing-related movie at the Calumet Theatre. We are having the Crafty Dog Vendor Fair at the Copper Country #404 Elks Lodge. And we are even having a fundraiser dinner at the Keweenaw Heritage Center! A detailed schedule will be made available by the end of the week.

Mushers, sponsors, and volunteers will all be contacted in the next few days in regard to what's next.

Run the Ritter 5k Canicross was a blast!
Saw several friends, and a lot of customers during the run. Great work Courtney Kampf getting this race started!

I haven’t run more than a mile since last summer when I sprained my ankle, so this was the kick in the @$$ I needed to start training again. Forgot how much I enjoy trail running with the dogs. Finished in 28min, so not bad!

Remus—
did awesome, it was his first race, and he’s come a long way with his confidence around new people and dogs. He was pretty hyped at the start, so I brought Ari to help him see that there’s no need to get too riled up. We kept our distance from the other teams so he could observe without getting overly excited or reactive. When the race started he took off sooooo fast! I had to reel him in and carry him with the harness on down hills, I forgot what a beast he is, considering he’s only 49lbs. Pulled the whole race and would keep looking back to check on me because we were going so slow compared to what he runs with the other dogs. Usually he’s running closer to 9mph but we were averaging 6mph haha. Little dude did awesome, we also had some very calm interaction post race with new people and dogs. He did amazing!

Ari—
Her chill self. Loved smelling things if we slowed down, very confident and really helped Remus see everything was no big deal. Ari ran hard the first mile, then decided she would kinda run but Remus could do all the work. Oh Ari…

Overall it was an amazing race, with lots of sweet canicross teams, and I how we can make it to some more meet ups this spring. If anyone needs a harness fitting for your canicross pup, feel free to visit the store!
